How might I persuade my audience to believe in me, George? How am I going to convince my audience? What techniques or things am I going to do to get them to listen to me? Readers and examples. That's a great option, isn't it? Examples? I love that. Yes. Let's actually give them an example of a situation. Love that. Okay, Mason, what else can I do to try and convince my audience? How else can I convince my audience? Use many like persuasive language. Use some great sentences and great words. We want good vocabulary. Yeah, I know. Do you think plastic should be banned? All these are going to be in our debate today, right? We're going to get all of them. Well done. Okay. So persuasion, it's so important. If a debate doesn't sound convincing, you won't win. You might have the best point. Your agree or disagree to emotion is probably correct. But the other team could win because they were more convincing, even if we perhaps didn't agree with what they said, even if the audience didn't agree with them. They've made logic, they've had evidence. They've got persuasive language, rhetorical question, expert opinions, examples that I can't not have them win. So don't ever let another team win because we haven't used these kind of devices. All right, so persuasive starters with good reason. We strongly believe that, of course, without a doubt. Yeah and these are great ways of getting your persuasive language. Yeah it is imperative that we utterly condemn plastic. Obviously, we need to do more. Research suggests, is it really worth losing our planet over this? It's clear for us all to see. Evidence overwhelmingly shows. How could anyone possibly think this sx Yeah triangle has three sides. Crs have whiskers. People need water to survive. These are facts. They're not opinions. These are facts. The air, they are backed by scientific research, they are facts. But in opinion, a triangle has three sides. Zes of stetriangles are easy to draw. That's an opinion which needs to be backed up with evidence. That's a cute. Well, some people might think so. Some people won't. And we need to drink two to three liters of water each day. Some pit's not a fact. Okay, so let's have a look at these. I want you to think, are they fact or are they opinion? We should eat less meat. Fact or opinion? Opinion. A, well done. Yeah, it's definitely opinion. Adopting pets is better than buying pets. Fact or opinion? Opinion. Yeah, well done. An opinion. Yeah. 95% of people agreed it was the best pizza they had ever tasted. Fact or opinion? Oh, we think this is an opinion. Oh, okay, what do you think? Fact. It's got a percentage. So we want to use this emotive language, okay, to make that feeling for the audience. We are going to use all of that in today's debate in is digital art just as worthy of regard as classical paintings? Guess what, guys, we've got a little video. So we're going have a look at the video. And then I want to hear all of your lovely opinions. Okay, here we go. Here are five differences between traditional art versus digital art. Let's start with traditional. Number one, it's tangible. Even though a drawing or a painting is two dimensional, you can feel the texture of the paper, canvas and paint. It is nothing better than a paintbrush to paper. This is honestly one of the best feelings ever, and I'm sure a lot of artists would agree. Also, mixing paint is truly a fun and magical experience. Number two, it doesn't rely on technology. When you're creating art, you don't have to worry about charging any devices. You can draw and paany time without any interruptions. You just need to right lighting. The only time you would need to use technology is when you need to scan your piece onto your computer. If your painting is too large to scan, you would need to use a camera to photograph it yourself. Number three, it creates a deep connection between the person and the artwork. The first thing I think about are going to museums, art shows and events. I love going to museums because it feels like I'm traveling to a different time in history. I can spend hours examining a particular painting and being fully enamored in every stroke. In detail, you get to learn about the story behind a painting and looking at it as if you're watching a film about it. When I look at a painting, I can imagine myself walking inside it and living life in that particular era. One of my favorite memories at a museum is when I went to Paris back in 2:12. I did go to the lavoire museum, and I saw the Mona Lisa painting up close. I thought about Leonardo da Vinci and how long it must have taken him to complete the painting. I wondered about his creative process and what his studio looked like. Through every painting you see at a museum or an art show, you get a little piece of the artist's soul. Number four, versatility. When you're creating an art piece, you're free to use a variety of materials to add more dimension. The act of making art with your own hands and meshing different mediums together creates a very unique experience. You can use found objects, recycle material or fabric. The possibilities are endless. Number five, it helps increase your problem solving skills. A great example of this is when you're painting on a large scale and you're painting a portrait or from real life, you'll need to take some time to make proper measurements and think about the right composition. When you work with your art materials, there's just deep connection between you and the medium. You learn how certain mediums work on different surfaces and how they react when used into conjunction with another medium. Now let's move on to digital art. There are a lot of things that I've found from creating digital illustrations. Number one, it's less waste. Creating digital illustrations means that you can create a huge body of work all in one device. It frees up so much space and adds less clutters to your home. Number two, extra tools. The great thing about digital art is that you're given so many amazing tools that you can't get with traditional art. There's an undo button, a plethora of brushes, you can duplicate layers, it's easier to find the color you want, and the list goes on and on. You have access to all these tools within seconds. All you have to do is tap, tap, tap. One of my favorite things about digital art is that I can easily add text when I use it. Urban sketch at coffee shops, and I would draw the menu. I used to use a White gel pen. It would be so annoying having to make layers of it to brighten the text. And when I would scan the image, it would look so messy. So I love writing on my iPad because you don't have to add so many layers, and it's easy and clean. Number three, instant shareability digital art allows you to instantly share your art all across your social media, and you will receive feedback from others within minutes. You can, of course, do this with your traditional art, but it might take a little longer. Number four, flexibility. Now these tie in with number two, but I love that you can move things around, resize an image within seconds, you can add layers, and you can erase without leaving a mark or indentation. Number five, you save money. Now, yes, you're spending money upfront on an iPad or tablet, which can get really expensive, but you'll be saving money in the long run. You don't have to go to the art store every few weeks or months to get more paper or paint, which will add up. Sure, you might have technical difficulties and might drop and break your tablet, but with extra care and protection, you won't have to worry about that too much. Another great thing is that you don't have to spend time and money on a scanner with digital art. All you have to do is save it onto your device and you don't have to worry much about color correction and removing dust. Okay, so it a lot of I think good points for and against, but let's now think from watching that what you guys thought. So Renee, let's start with you today. So what did you think? Having watched that all your own opinion, what do you think? Which one do you think is better? I'm not very sure because they are all good in some ways. Like that's traditional arts. You can paint it with your own hand without any use of technology and and creates maybe three dimensional great paintings that look like three dimensional with your own hand. But using technology to create digital art, we can just choose the exact color you want without. Doing too much, wasting too much time on mixing the paint. I think that's a really digum. And that's you can well, you will need to do it again if you you've done something wrong and can't correct too. I think that's the thing, isn't it? Like there's more corrections perhaps that can be done with digital art. But I suppose a part of me thinks, do we take away the fun of just being able to be messy and create like, is that what we want to do is like take away all the mess from it? I don't know. I mean, it's a good point there in A I like the fact that you've opened us up with two of those good, good reasons. Okay. And Zoe, what's your thoughts? I think that digital, digital art can be more Lee, but classical art has its own unique, and it can be very lively, so you can feel inside the art and enjoy doing an art like you could. You could do ly and then but you could enjoy all the fun inside Yeah and enjoy the fun of creating, I think something here, this word unique, Zoe, I think is a good thing to bring up actually. Do we take away that like when someone creates a classical painting that that's it, isn't it? They make a mistake or there's something slightly out or something that's not right that will remain in the painting and maybe that's what makes the art unique. If I make it on a digital lot and I make a mistake, I can just simply go back. Am I losing the uniqueness? Is it something that everyone can now do? I gonna see I think digital art is like a worthy because because first, like digital art can like help us use less money. Like although if you sometimes like me to buy pad and it and takes a lot of money, I'm also like digital like so it's like very neat and like you can you Yeah you can like choose like the different layers and like the sort of like the texture instead of just like buying something or like making it on a paper. No, that's a big thing is buying materials. Have you got the right materials that you need for this particular project? That is a very, very good point. Yes, well done. Say well done, Mason and plan. What's your thoughts on this? What are you thinking? Classical paintings are usually in museums, so not everyone can see them easily. But digital art can be shared on online, on phones, computers, or even big digital shows. Team lab, a famous digital art group, makes shows where people can walk into the art. This makes art fun and accessible for everyone, which is a wonderful thing about digital art. Oh, this is a good point. It what make something accessible. Yes, we've got wow, you guys have definitely done some research on this this week. This is amazing. Yeah, we've got because I think both arguments is to be considered. I think digital art is as worthy of regard as classical paintings because first, it shares the same artiartist core as classical paintings. Artist trovalue comes from creativity, emotion and expression, not the materials. And and also, the digital art have a lot of good paintings. For example, like just like the van gostarry night, both kind of art can make people think, feel moved and see the world in new ways. Oh yes, conjured. And digital art also has some advantages. It has cost less money, even though by an by an digital thing is very expensive. But it will it will it will save money in a long term. I think this is this is another good point. Yeah this idea of what is creativity? Is it the materials and the way that we create it by hand? Or is it simply just someone's idea being put into a page? Years ago, digital art was rubbish. I mean, the programs they had for digital art was awful. But now you can pick different paintbrushes, different styles, different notions. So it does have its place. Doesn't it does have a place. Chloe, what do you think? I think it depends. Because like classical painting, it can show your skills. And then on the digital painting, you just needed, you don't need to just have to prepare the colors or just prepare all of the things that you need. So this is a like it's really fun that when you like know your skill and then it's really high, and then you would be like happy. And then when you draw, and it would be very convenient to draw anywhere, if you take a paper and a pencil or anything else, you don't need to actually mix the colors. You can actually just draw and whenever you want and what you see. So I think that it actually depends. I think I think this is going to be one of those debates, isn't it, where I'm not entirely sure we're going to come out with the with the the motion is going to come to you guys making those quotes and research, I think, because Yeah, you're right. This idea that it's easy to move around, isn't it, with your supplies, if you want to paint a picture in the park, you've got to take all your paint with ya. Whereas if you had your digital notebook, you could draw and sketch anything, anywhere at any time. And you've only got one laptop to take with you two somewhere. So interesting. Sometimes with art, we want to be able to feel the artwork. Yeah, you can't do that with a digital print. If I want to feel the rough stones of something, or maybe someone has put pebbles in for a pebble beach or someone's trying to make it look quite 3D, I'm not gonna na get that from digital art, okay? Some of the most famous artists in the world is that we can see what they've done with their brush strokes, and that can be something that's very interesting. We can tell a painting, by the way, that someone has used their hand to create a painting that's very unique, that's very, that's something very special that you can't replace in digital art. However, digital art is on the rise. Being able to share your artwork, being able to do logos, being able to do content, being able to sketch something at last minute can be very, very creative and something that we actually can end up doing quite quickly. Listen, your time starts now. So hello, my name is Mason. I am going to support that the afteam. And I think that digital art is just as worthy of regardless as classipaintings. My first reason is that it takes less money. You just have to buy a cabin instead of buying paint brushes, paper to draw. And also it makes it makes the need at you just have you just have to choose the brushes, make layers and like choose the texture and write it down. Also you can you can also you can if you finish a painting like you can get on YouTube or like a Facebook and you can let other people like immerse your art like different social medias that going to a museum to appreciate. So so it will be be more easier to do that. Also digital arts are easy to use like when you need to because I papers like they are easy to broke it easy to break and like the brushes, like some brushes like are like not really good and it will also break. I like they are not really useful, but like in digital arts, like you can just choose the brushes like it's like not real. So I really won't break or like do anything. I will be like pretty useful. Alas, I also think that you can have a new experience on using this because like you can try on a computer or like a tablet to draw, to draw things like in digital ways.
