Look to okay, today I went to school and we had our fire examination. I was going to say it's not really nervous. I've been really nervous. Were you really nervous doing it, Annie? Oh, but I bet you did. Amazing. Yeah. Have you been revising for it? How do we do that waving thing? See, there's a little man at the bottom. And if you click him, I can't do it. But if you click him, it should just let you have like a little wave and then, which will be really good for today. Cause then if you've got anything you wanna say, you can wave at me like Henry's doing now he can wave. And Anna, I am loving your bookcase. By the way, this bookcase is fabulous. I want this bookcase. I love this. I love books. I really, you've got books this. Well, I love. Look at this. That's a jfish. That's hi. Should we say you to Andy? Let's say you to Andy. Hi, Andy. Every one of them. All of them. Yeah, all of them. And Yeah, I like her. Who's your favorite character? Jenny? Ginny. Oh, Ginny I. You know what? I really like Ginny. No one really talks about how much, but I like Ginny. She's a poor character. I never realithat no way you really like jny, so I'm pretty dcast ss about it. Oh Yeah, that's fine. I, Henry, what are you gonna say? What do you like? What books do you like? I jjny, I know I not, I not have these his shows es anymore. You like the way we had ded, I think, I think the only est doing at the same time. I don't doubt it. My brain is going to Press that way if I can't let it go of the video. Auntie, what were you going to tell me? What's your favorite book? When the time when we were to cover the entire, you know, which land the industry. Oh, so you like the book where Voldemort takes over where he's starting to become like the dark wizard. He's bold. What your favorite character? Andy? No, he's the he was the banners character, I think. But just Andy might like him. Andy might like him. Them. Andy, did you like voldemmore? Like you like the do you like the book? That's the Henry. Henry, just let other people speak as well, my darling. Yeah, you've got wonderful energy, but I want you to just make sure you can listen to everyone else as well. Okay, Henry, so what were you saying? Henry? Okay, what will be you saying, my dling? Okay, I'm Drews wanted to talk. I love Harry pot, but I love dugma instead. You always make crazy and ready. But he has no, I love this. Everyone's got their own different favorite characters. Can I tell you my favorite character in Harry Potter? Haggrid? I, Oh Yeah, love. He's a good huabout to. Okay, what's kind of with me? Sort of I love haggrid, right? Guys, today we've already done a little mini debate for which character we like in Harry buttter for which done way welcome welcome welcome welcome. I'm very excited for us to have this today as you can see it's this Laura but I am not teacher Laura I am teacher Lisa so welcome to my classroom today what we are gonna any hands up if you've debated before it does not matter if you haven't anybody debated before Oh Andy you've debated you've do it as in Henry okay and you've did a little bit perfect Yeah go Henry okay to be Oh you've done you've done an in person debate no I hate a bait with other several people they are but some of them had no chance they have no so I know I have no to them so I just give up I just give up Oh no crazy sometimes hensometimes sometimes in debating we do just have to say I've been out debated right your argument is too good for me to rebuttle however with practice preparation rebutling understanding your topic and also critical thinking we should be able to debate anything okay so today we've got all of this is just telling us what you need you've already got everything you need so we're gonna to PaaS this slide because it's just telling us all the stuff you're already doing which is sitting up being present with the camera on so ating. Right so we're gonna introduce ourselves first of all, okay with a bit of an introduction game, I've got a bit of a question for you. What would you do if you ruled the world? If you were voldemmore, what would you do if you ruled the world? So I'm running a first right? My name is Lisa and if I ruled the world or if I ruled the world everybody would have a three day weekend. So that are Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. Yeah, I've quite mind Jonda, okay, I've got some people are saying yes to this one. Okay, Andy, if you ruled the world, what would you do? They eliminate any factories and terraform planets. That's a very good idea. Did again, Andy, because there's some videos about terraforming Venus, Mars, or technically plto. Yes. Oh, that's a good one. Okay, it was very it was very scoop ous a very intelligent one. Oh, that was good. But okay, Andy, if you Ruthe world, what would you do? I would if I Ruthe world, I'll probably give nobody homework. No, no, I'm so they could just get rid of all of it, just free time, just fun, no homework. Love them. Okay, I like this. I think Andy's not so sure. Andy's not so sure. That's okay. You don't have to agree with someone's rule. Henry, if you ruled the world for the day, what would you do? I think I, I'll have six, six, no, no schooling day. Six, no school. They six days. School, do we go school? One. So weweonly go to school on night. What day would it be? Would you go on a Monday? A Tuesday? Wednesday? Which day would you make a school day? I think, I think the the weekend, of course, the last weekend, all and all and all the day we have to go to school is canis. So what you're saying, Henry, is really, your rule is saying we wouldn't go to school. I love this. I love this. No homework from Annie. We've got much more about taking down some factories. Who wouldn't like that? And then we've got Henry's idea of no school at all. I see. Have to learn something. Talk to you. I said, we're going say, what would be learned? Where would everyone would everyone do if they didn't go to school? I mean, what would all the parents do? They somegoing work. What would you do? Stay at home with your robot? What can she do if nobody goes to do she to be a teacher? Yes. Henry, Yeah. Who will would happen to my job? I know that question very well, because I once go to school for no time, but in my day, kwhen never very angry, and he decided to do no school thing. So I just do what. Well, I think youall do a very good job of ruling the world. I think that's a fantastic, so what everyone you like from school, seven day for five days, then suddenly it becomes six days. How would anyone cope? What what would everyone do? I know. What would everyone do? What would well, guys, guess what you're already doing. I'm about ask you what is debating, but you're kind of already doing it. Yeah. It's bringing our opinions and our viewpoint to sensibly, not attacking, not rudely, politely. Yeah we're politely disagreeing with each other with reasons as to why. Yeah. So debating. Anyone want to tell me what they how they could describe debating? Hands up if you think right, I know how to I could describe debating. Okay, Henry, tell us what is debating? When I was on the stage, everyone was talking about a question debating. Okay. I started with one question about marif Mars really has really have lavertubes what what if people can build to be hopes in it? I know I know no Olympic Monso. I know that's that are debating so everyone we're talking about the question and I say no word then I say I give up to then I go down stage. That is all I know. There is this great Henry, exactly what it is. It's bringing your evidence, your argument, your thoughts and putting them out for other people to hear. Yeah, excellent. And if I've got formal debating, what do I tend to have in terms of teams? Well, everybody has their own opinions and sort of we have to talk with each other and Yeah, sort of like competing. Yes. Like I think we shouldn't go to school. But Henry think as just someone that I made it and I think we should totally go to school. It's very important. So we should talk to each other and compete. Very, very well done. Perfect is exactly what is a greteam and the negative team, someone agreeing with the motion, someone disagreeing with the motion. Excellent. Yes, Andy. It's also we need to bring the evidence to the judge and it will consider in the in the conference room, not really the courtroom. Very welcome. Ject the judge's opinions and make some opinion about it and get in the way that the other judges cannot counteract. Very well done. And dy exactly what it is. Yeah, we could think about the evidence and the research. Hi, I think we've got Jame. Hi, Jamie. Can you hear? Hello, teacher. Hi. How are you? Jamie, are you traveling? Where are you traveling to? Back to my home. Back home coming from school. And well, David, we've just been chatting about what we do if we ruled the world. So you've not missed too much in the lesson. And we're now just talking about what a debate is. Okay, we've had some good rules. Henry wanted to have no school for six days a week. So he's got rid of school, ananhe's got rid of homework and Andy shusome factories. So jb, welcome, welcome welcome to today's lesson. We're really pleased to have you with us. Yes. So guys, what I thought, I mean, it sounds like you already know what a debate is, but I've got a funny Green man here that would like to tell you what debating is. And I think we should watch in the video and ittell us a bit about the formal rules of debating. So here we go. Debating is when you'll argue for or against a topic. You have to prove why your team is right and the opposition is wrong. A topic might be something simple, like cats are better pets than dogs, or students should get more holidays. Let's begin with the setup of a formal debate. Two teams of three people sit at the front of the room. On one side is the affirmative team, and on the other side is the negative team. The first speaker of the affirmative team is the first person to speak. The timekeeper starts the stopwatch. When the speaker begins, the first speaker defines the keywords of the topic, introduces the team's argument and begins the debate. The second person to speak is the first speaker from the negative team. Like the affirmative side, they define the key words and introduce their team's argument. This person also rebuts points made by the first speaker of the affirmative team. Rebuttal is when you choose a point made by the opposition and explain why they're wrong and prove why you're right. Rebuttals can win or lose debates. However, you must never become personal in rebuttals. After the first speaker of the negative side, the second speaker of the affirmative side speaks, followed by the second speaker of the negative side. Both of these speakers continue their team's arguments and rebuthe opposition. The third speakers of each team are the last people to speak. First, it's the third speaker of the affirmative team, and then the third speaker of the negative teen. Both of these speakers rebuked the oppositions debate and summarizes their own teens argument. The third speaker of the negative team is the last person to address the audience in the debate and have the last word. This can be an advantage in debating. At the end of the debate, an adjudicator or team of adjudicators will decide which team is the winner. They consider your presentation skills, the timing of your debate, and it's the team with the most convincing argument that wins the debate. Debating teaches you to look at both sides of an argument. Sometimes you may not agree with the side of the debate you are arguing, and this can be challenging, but it can be a good experience to look at a topic with a different point of view. It also teaches you teamwork. Each member of the team needs to know what their teammates are talking about. Planning and writing the debates are done together. I was going to say he's told us I because it and what do you think is the biggest part of team work? Why do we need to work as a team only? Everybody has different opinions, so if we put them together, it will be more challenged. Yeah, excellent. And also like you might get different ideas if you started to discuss with your team. Yeah, excellent. Great. Well, Yeah Jamie, why do you think working as a team with debating is so important? Oh, you're on mute. Yeah I think that working as a team could make more arguments for one team and more rebuttals and also new ideas. Maybe sometimes you can speak to each other while you are preparing. Excellent. It's exactly what we want, need to, especially today. It's exactly what I want you all to be doing. Yeah clai guess, Henry, what do you think makes a good team member? I think everyone shared the information and everyone and everyone can come with can communicate very, very quietly and then gets the most more information in the third one. We all get ther information for the third one and the third one can require a word word information much more than the the and then and then the other teams. Then so so this is so then the end is is the over the over ones. So I want speed in the negative teams for once. Oh, was the last one to speak. So we talk about the question about about our planets. So so just like so just like what so just like what we have to been saying about a very experience straight, think the executive team and the mative team actually attacks. So I think this is not normal, but we also communicate with information, with our with our own information to gather other other important ogredients to win this competivery. Well, we yes. So just like we say something and other ones say another thing, that we gather this, know all all the information together and transport it to the third part, we do the third part. So the third part can repeat repeat it, repeat it in the same words as as the all of them. The third part. Yes, Henry, because you're right there. We want that third speaker, don't we? Because that's important. Teamwork is really important for the third speaker, because that third speaker might be the difference between winning or losing your debate. Yeah, well done, Henry. Excellent, Andy. What do we perhaps have to do before we work as a team? What makes us a good team member? You all have good friendships or don't have any enemies against your side. Like let's say team. There are two teams, team a and team B. A player in team b doesn't like a player in the same team, so he might be rebuffed or might be compelled to say some things that the first speaker of the first team said. So you don't want the trail in your team or anything of, Yeah, you want to you want to trust your team. Also, you might debate on a side that you don't agree with, but you have to look at both sides, right? So you have to work out, and today you may be on a side that maybe isn't your place that you would have chosen to be, but it's kind of like, okay, well, I've got to think about the other side. Yeah, totally right, Andy. We've got to put anything we're not sure about someone like, Oh, don't know if they're my best friend. Still have to work together because it's about the debate. And the video said that the two teammatwere sharing with each other. It's like one teammate says the basic, another teammate says the advanced and the third speaker says the finishing patches. Yeah, very well done. Absolutely perfect. Well then yes. Henry Yep, I just thinking about the question that that in our team there's not such quite right over three people so so we just gather information then and they have a put this this is only two we have we have five or six or seven people that I don't even understand. Yes, yes, that can be just Yeah, exactly. Exactly, Andrew. Yes, absolutely. I bet the main thing we want to think about, we've got a team for four and we've got a team again, and you have to prove your point to the judge today, which is what we make. And today's debate is all about it's exploring space. Really important. Yeah. Before Jamie, I can see your itching, tell us your ideas. But we are going na have a little look at this video. Yes, Jamie. Oh, you don't meet Jamie. I fake. I think that exploring space is important for my researches. Like an exploring space, like the key of solving hard problems on earth, maybe like the dirt or the duon moves and the stone on mois is small. It cannot like it cannot be affected like the stones here on earth. So that is a so that is a big founbit. And we can and we and we can No Why we can know why that's the stone doesn't be infected. Well done. Okay. Okay. So we can think about solving for the research. Yes, excellent. Yes. Henry, I'll come to you. Could you next? So Henry, what are you going to say? Yeah, I once I just wanted to say, just just explore me, say, space like a little, little, little little tree where you grow the tree, you pay money. But when you have the, but when you have all of those those replies you have, you have to reward this like exploring space. Scientists have lots of ideas about how in how you you can you can explore the space with in in a different different ways, just like other and just like other people share their information to each other. We all start the same way. We have a different coment. We have looking for different things. Like like now we are a body hothat. We we can build and build build based on Mars, like like because like嗯那个that Mars Mars has lots of refreshing air and of course, lots of winds. So wind wind electricity can make a very different source in those chaos. So when in moon, and when in the moon, one atmosphere was very, very, very low, and of course not very thick. The sunlight shines straight straight through it. That way we can we can use some sunlight electricity to make lot power. So I so I think most thing that important, the most thing that that exploring space is to find a new electric. So that could be a good idea. Henry. Henry, that's a great idea. Let's stay with that one for a moment just so that we can make sure we can hear some other ideas. Henry, that's a fantastic one. I love that. Andy, you had your hand up. What were you going to say? Support Henry, because exploring this can let us mine asteroids with materials that we cannot even imagine and maybe solve problems like global warming or global darname. Well, that's that is the point is that global darkening is a big problem that we don't think about much. Yeah, global warming. Okay. So we've got Henry and Andy that actually are onof the same idea. And we've got Jamie thinking about Jamie, I will come back to you in a second. But Annie, I'd love to hear from you. What do you think? Are you all for space? Or do you think it's, you know, we should be saving stuff on earth? Should we be saving our own planet before we're looking at there? It's expensive. It costs a lot of money to go to space. Do you think it's universe costs a lot of money, but it still comes to less than 1% of you as government spending. But that seems like a bargain when you think about all the benefits. Oh, and what do you think are the benefits? Well, space programs boost the economy by creating jobs that are driving the invenof new technology that change our lives. Okay. So we kind of feel like, Yeah we going on Yeah how space flight drumas could provide lisaving knowledge about the human body, right? So you think this, you think space has got more benefits to it than us leaving, than trying to save anything that we're trying to do on earth? Do you think putting our money into space exploration has bigger benefits than spending it elsewhere? Okay. Yeah do you think that, Anna, do you think spending stuff in space, do you think that is much more economical than trying to perhaps, I don't know, come up with sustainable energy on earth? Do you think it's better for us to find other sources and other equipment? Yeah Yeah you think that Yeah, okay, no, I love this. This is a great idea. I love the fact that you've used economics in there as well, Anna. So that's really clever. Yeah because we've got all of you have now come already with so many different points but for the same argument. Yeah, well done. Excellent. Okay, Jamie. So I think that continuing exploring space is it's very important too, because humanity from the twentieth century, it has achieved a lot. It has achieved a lot of faith space, such as they said, robust bars did, that astronauts stand on the moon, which means that we can have an ultimate test about our technology, and we can and we can absorb new things and add it to our modern world. Second is that. Satellite technology provides Internet and food access to remote and regions of the planet, such as spacx a starlake. It's decided to provide high speed. So let's to see Internet to the entire globe. Through the Third World, we can know that space exploration gave humans to look at the planet. But it gives them the ability satellites like the G O es series provide continuously monitoring of weather patterns, allowing the tracking of hurricanes, tornadoes and other several storms proves exploring space is important. Hey Jamie to be Jame, well done. I'm just gonna stop you there because I don't want you to take all of you debating Yeah because I want to keep some of that for your debate, for your formal debate in a bit because what you've given us is excellent, but I want to make sure you don't give away anything to anybody else. Yeah so you could give some of that for yourself. And this is excellent, Jamie. I can tell how much you've researched it. Yeah some really nice points here about the weather mobile access. I am currently myself on starlink, so without that I couldn't actually access the Internet where I live. So it is changing our world, yes, changing our careers, our way of accessing things, yes. Henry, Yeah, I just wanted to say continue, continue. I just wanted to tell you that, that, that if, if, if any's, Andy's research band of this debate had given me an idea if, if, if all of these are, I think, I think the a whirlhole or or where you can find space x, it is actually inside a black hole. I think it is black hole in black holes and White holes. And update any other Pacific space, Pacific time space is all connected. Maybe, maybe the, maybe the one hole or black hole can take you to another, to another room and mean space. Yes, henthat's a really good idea. I just really wanna make sure that we've got time to get into our formal debating. So don't think that I'm stopping any of your discussions, but I do want us now to think about not things that are for I now want us to think about why it's not important. Where could we be putting our resources at the moment? We've only got our pros, but we do need to think about our cons today. Okay. So Andy, what do you think would be a reason that it's not important? I am eating the second before I am in space. I'm the one who wants in space. I'm not the one who is not. In space. Okay, so yes, yes, I totally understand that, Andy, but we need when we're doing debating, we have to think about the other side. Yeah one, you can end up on a team that means that you're fighting for something you disagree with. Unfortunately, that can happen. But the biggest thing is we have to see both sides. So even if you agree or disagree with a topic, you have to think about what the other team might say or why it may not be important. That's really a key to debating because otherwise you don't know what that team is going to argue against you. You haven't thought about the whole problem because some people, Andy, would say it was too expensive. We spend a lot of money sending rockets up to space. We send a lot of carbon dioxide into the air. When we send a rocket, we've got a problem in our planet. Our planet is global warming yet. We're not doing putting our money in there. We're too busy spending our time in space. Maybe Yeah. So we've got to think about today's motion. Today's motion is how important is it? Is it more important than life on earth? Is it part of our future? But why might it be the other way? Why can we think of perhaps why it's not a good idea to go? So Jamie, you've had got your hand up. Why do you think that maybe this may not be a good idea? I think you might be on mute, Jamie, if you're talking to us when you come back. Damie, I'll come back to Annie. What do you think? Why do you think? Maybe it's not a great idea. Why is it not that important? It wastes much needed resources. The cost of space exploration can only be described as astronomnsa's budget has decreased since we first landed on the moon, but it's so tens of billions of dollars every year. Yes. And right now, the russiis high in the us, and people are struggling. The money could go to programs that could help them. Well, the night ght's a very, very good answer. Fny, Yeah, absolutely. You fantastic. Exactly. We've already got these issues on earth. Why are we bothering to go all the way to space for it? Everybody not there already. What's a little loi think? Guys, what is it? Cat, sorry. We should we just go up to pause for 2s while I just grabbed you? My, my little fairy room. He's not in the room with me today, but there he is. This is my little Fairry friend. And this little trip. But anyway, just saw the dog, right? Andy, you had your hand up. What did you think? What could we think of for the other side? Meet me. So I can see on this side, so there is a debate with three. There's one. Okay. So I think any statement has some fun because we can send microskcraft not meaning carbon dioxide. So Andy, Andy, absolutely. And you totally can be on that team today. But we are now thinking, I just want some ideas, okay? Just some critical thinking. You can definitely debate on that. So I don't want you to give all of your rebuttalles away, but I want us to think about the other side of this argument here. Why do we think that this may not be important? Keep all the rest of it, Amdy, because you're gonna to fight against them in a minute. I do want to give them everything when it keeps some of it about. So Henry, why do you think maybe it wouldn't be important? I don't think so. But but I have another idea so we're not we're not on the other side now we're not gonna to talk about the word talk about cons now only cons, okay, anyone else but any other ideas we can think of for cons? You're gonna need it otherwise you won't know what they're gonna debate on the other side. You're only gonna be thinking about your side. We have to think about every angle. So let's give you some hints and tips to help you. Okay? So we are struggling. Sometimes you can end up on a side you don't agree with, okay? You've got to think about both sides of your debate. So let's look at some of the cons here. Space travel implies significant air pollution, okay? Particle pollution can be a problem. Yes, Jamie. I still want to say that I can still, I still can say that exploring space is not important. Maybe from like on earth, the resources are needs to import oured into research, development and for space missions. This is in our modern world, but the poverty, hunger, disease and climate change haven't been solved. And these are these big amounts of money. And also at this to space exploration may be the billions of dollars for just one research, but on earth, you can you can just use AI. Make a fee that is like the test. There will be, but the same amount of body is space exploration that can be used, can help human beings and a lot of medical tension. The means that explore space isn't important, as though that we need to use the body on different places. Yes, we too many, right? Just where leave have time guys and where your time. I want to get you into your teams. Well, ton J may and weldone and Annie for bringing some of those ideas together. Okay, so it seems like both of you could probably debate on either site and that what we're gonna be doing. Okay Henry, save what you've got because you and Andy, Yeah you guys are going to be amazing at this. I know you're going to be amazing at this both of you, all of you. So I think because of just the from our discussions and I think because you will be able to tell Annie and I will put you into your own rooms now. So Annie and Jamie, you are going to state, no, it's not we don't have to say it's not important at all, but there are other things perhaps we need to think about money, maybe research, maybe a global warming honearth. So you're going to go on to the negative team today. And Henry and Andy, you are going to go on to the affirmative team saying yes, it is super, super, super important. Okay, so one good duit's gonna to put you into your own rooms. I can come into every room. I can see every room. Just so you're aware, I will pop into your room. We won't have a huge amount of time because I want you to be able to debate. Okay, so I will be giving each of you guys six minutes to sort of chat, think about what you're going to say, okay? Think, share your ideas with your team. And then we're gonna debate when we're gonna to do a formal debate together. So let me get you into your room so that nobody, you can't hear each other 's team for team talks. So I'm gonna start the griping. Annie, we need swap you two round. So Henry needs to go with Andy and Annie needs going to Jamie. I will pop into your room in 2s. Okay. Jamie's back, Jamie's bad. Hello. But you should be able to also esome have your tools. So you should, in theory, be able to circle anything you want to do in this page here. Guys, if you're thinking about some of the cons and you're like, I'm not sure I need a few more ideas, there is a whole cons page for you hear. Okay. All right. Yay. All right. I've got pop in. I've probably now got per time and a half minutes. All okay I'll be back if you need me just pop into the chat say please come into the room and then I will come it back in and grab you all okay, I'll be back in in a bit. I'm just gonna check the other guys teacher. Problems that are like you are too full of ideas. You need to get your ideas down so we can do it in three places. You don't want the first rebuff you get our your whole sentence and then on secondary buff you have nothing so you need explain the three parts. Henry that's a great that's a really good thing to say and Yeah, perfect right you guys okay you seem like you're chatting so I feel like you've got it. If you want some more ideas, you've got some pro here. Yes. Henry, okay. I've just been thinking about if you can launch a space into into the world, it could pay lots of money. But I think I think Carin space is very important because we still don't know about about any other questions. We don't still, we still stay in the solar system for no reason. We have to, we have to get out of the solar system and PaaS all of those media rosometimes. So I think we have to debate on all of those, all of those whole important machines. So we have to get you out of space. So we have to we have to discover more about more more context. So so ideas about rock. So have any other ideal things, or at least energy search so we can make it give all all us very, very more important energy for building our native world. Okay, so Henry and Dave, you sound like you've got lots of ideas. I'm going to leave you to chat for a moment while I check on the other team. Keep going. This sounds amazing what we got going on. Hi Annie. It's Jamie in jamiout. Jamie in Oh no, she's struggling to get my Kat it and you're on mute at the moment. What kind of ideas have you got? Her name, if Jamie struggles to get back in or the Internet goes, then I will debate with you, Amy, so you won't be on your own, I promise, whatever happens, adthere, we are Jamie's back. Excellent. What have you guys thought about so far? I think we can't hear you on any of your comments. I think that diseases is again, I think diseases is a good one to go down here. AI, AI, I like this version of the idea being. Like AI can help the guys se disguise as you are in the space traveling in space trip, you can disguise yourself, like disguise yourself as a other, as an other looking you can look at, you can look at the process, how A I makes it, then maybe you do it. It's it's maybe the same, the quality is the same as the. As as taking billions of dollars into into space exploration in real world. So actually, the AI one, and the real one is is highly percentage. That is that is equed. So that means that we get used to billions of dollars and others, such as medical medical defense, like maybe we can maybe we can buy, maybe we can like put it down technology, maybe we can use muout and make some new things and actually maybe plan on making the world we're living in a much better place. Annie, you talked early, and I think it's a really, really good point to be making. You know there are people like that are suffering with poverty, that are suffering with inflation, that are dealing with difficult ways of living at the moment. And it kind of feels like, are we distracting ourselves with space travel when there are there are so many aspects that are still not actually being thought about on earth? So I suppose we've got to think about that as well, haven't we? Yes, I think I that Elon Musk is always thinking about going into Mars, but I think that on earth is enough because maybe you can like as though we can use AI now AI is a powerful tool for us, for the humans, this powerful tool, we can do anything. We can do anything, such as you don't need to go to real space exploration, but you can just know like if you put this thing into AI and let and let AI disguise this the into real Mars living, maybe you can have the solution to it, but you don't need to have billions of dollars gave it to property. Okay, I love this. I think you guys have got some really, really good ideas, right? I'm just gonna go check on the other team. But what I want you to think about Jamie and Annie, who's going fast? Who's going second? Who's your first speaker? Who's your second speaker? Okay, so have that chat for yourselves. I'll be back. I'm just just going to pull you into the other room in a minute. Okay, Andy and Henry, our time is up, right? What want you to do? Who's going to go first? Who's first speaker? Who's second speaker? You don't have a third speaker. Andy, you can be the first speaker. Is Andy okay with being the first speaker? No. What what will do then? We're going to make it fair. And Henry, would you like to be the first speaker? Would you have a problem with being first speaker? If not, we'll do the round. Dom two, actually, I can be the first speaker. Oh, I can give a very amazing. Thank you. So, right, I'm going to grab everyone back into the room. I'll be back in 2s. I'm going to pull you in. Andy, Henry, Jamie, Annie, welcome back to the debating room. Okay guys, some very big things to listen. I'm waiting to listen for this bit. Okay. Do not interrupt each other during our debate. Yeah, you must let people finish their timing. You will be given two minutes and 30s for your time slot. I will stop you so don't be worried. It's not do did anything wrong. If I stop you it's just we have to keep the timing in our debating. Okay? And if we have time today, we may not because we've packed a lot in today's debate. And if we have time, the room will be open to questions. We may not have time today. However, when that happens, you can raise your hand, but we may not have time for that today. Speak clearly and only in your time slot. You may make notes during someone's debate. Yeah if there's something you want na add in your speech, the chair, I decide everything. If you do, I decided. But if you do not win today, that does not mean you are bad. But debaters, it does not mean you did anything wrong. All it means is that one side of the argument was just more convincing. Okay. Yes, Adam. No, I just want to yes. Okay. Do you have something you want to ask us? Ask away, Annie, if you've got any questions. Can I say I forget it now? Oh, that's okay. You can absolutely forget it as well. Anyes. Jamie, this as the wdc. Yes, it's kind of like again, like a yes, yes, we have do we have time for poi? And we may not, Jamie, not today know because it's sort of because we've had to we've put a lot into obviously get ourselves into understanding debating. So not today, Jamie, but you are correct in the fact that we can have poi, but some people in the class won't know what that is yet. Jamie, okay, but it is something you can work towards. So well done rytenry. Your first. Can I have a question? You also can't absolutely have a question. Henry, what's your question? My question is for now, be thinking if we all make sources to create our beautiful group and has a few of it, but if we run out of these things, how we do so, Henry, you're about to do Henry, you're about to do a debate. You're about to be debate. So there's no more time for discussion. We're gonna go into a formal debate now, Henry. Okay, so Henry, you are first because you are the affirmative speaker and the affirmative speaker goes first. So Henry is our first speaker of opening our debate today. So welcome everyone to our very first round of debating our topic today. Is is exploring space really important? Our affirmative speakers today, our speaker Henry and speaker Andy, and on our negative team, our speakers, our speaker Jamie and speaker Annie, the speaker order is Henry. And then is it Jamie or Annie? Which ones? Which one of you is going first? Jming? And then it will brilliant. Then it will be speaker Andy and then speaker Annie will close our debate. Each speaker is allocated two minutes and 30s. You will be stopped strictly at the end of two minutes and 30s. Okay, Henry, are you ready? Okay, Henry, your time starts now. So and so on of now, if if all the run energy runs out of the earth, we might have no energy to build our home world. So we have to find another, another, another planet that is close to, that is close to us. So it has creatures and waters and any other, any other basic necessities that we have live. So we have to do it by using space nookay, okay, building spacecraft might might have much money, but it is very important to find new homes to our whole world. Like like we can go and like we don't have even powerful enough machines to get into a black hole yet. So we have to get understand how black hole is a transparent hole that really lives up to its name. So I think thinking there might be other no known planets that we have to be discovered. So we we have to use these protested technology to regain our strike and and continue continuing the search. And of course, the global be war we will spread everything in. Scientists have been present in another way to save the global be warning. So space class are another problem. Have we have the spacecraps and we have all of our arthings. We have the limited depbut. We have to but we have to vibrate the limit damage of our spacecraft. So, so, so we have to, so we, my idea is to have others little, a little shield on all of the detectors. So 30s left, ten right. Okay. So this is my idea about how we've sabout space project. And of course, flying through space might take a lot of fuel, so it's important that we should move it up. So we've come out of the project of space. So that's my and. Thank you very much, Henry. And that is your time. Henry. I, amazing, darling. Exit, right? We are heading now over to the negative team. Negative speaker Jamie, are you there? Thanatefully? Negative speaker Jamie, is there not? We might have to change the speakers around. Negative speaker Jamie, we pop to space. Oh, no, Annie, we might have to get you. Looup, have you afraid? Until, Jamie, you'll be back in. You'll be fine. Annie, you'll be fine. Yeah, you're goto be amazing, right? I'm sorry, Anna. And hopefully if he jumps back in in the next 10s, as I've say this, we'll sp you back around, but if not, we'll start it. Okay, Annie, you have two minutes and 30s and your time starts now. Okay, our argument is clear, space exploration sconges trillions of dollars, hours of labor and scarce materials that our planet and it's people that's really need it right now. While the idea of ventoring into the customers s captures the imagination, we cannot ignore the heart reality on earth. Milons, go hungry disease remauntreated. It's very, the circusing is very important. So we should treat first the place on earth. Now. And let me think, besides, with more than 80% of the world's ocean yet to be explored, there's plenty to discover closer to home. Well. Deny. Yeah number three, no. And private companies like SpaceX are going to space or so exorsion will continue whether or not the government pays for it. Yeah, well done. Thank you very much. That is that you can so Annie, when you want to close it, you can say in conclusion, I think, and then you can say thank you and then everyone knows that your debate is over. It's a clever way of telling us that you're done, as you could say. In conclusion, I think that space exploration isn't as important as, you know, exploring things closer to home. Thank you. Yeah, that's how you can close it on a well done. Yeah, really nice debate. Love the statistics as well. I mean, really nice tistic. And thank you so much. Job, jp. Left class. You also had to bamboosel a bit of getting in this. So Annie did really well on keeping up with that world done. Okay, Andy, your two minutes and 30s starts now. So Annie said, it's correct that it cost millions of dollars, but the ocean is too easy to explore. We can send millions of submarines and it will be easy to just explore the whole ocean in about a month. So oceans are technically closer to home because oceans are very far away from land and very harsh. And space can also help global warming by looking at methane leaks. And even some space technology is helping the global impact on earth, like some 3D printed parts of water recycers or space filters are used in. And anice also said that there is massive global change. Global warming can be eliminated. If we all move from better planet like Mars, we could completely eliminate global warming or find elements like carbonate forming radicals that could suate all the carbon dioxide. Since the technology is infeeable on earth, since we have mined all the minerals. So come on. If we explore earth, we might be too late. If we all explore the ocean, then after a month, humanity would be gone or by some other impact. And we also have problems like scientists have not figured out how to get global warning. After you find the answer, you're already. So the ocean is easy to explore. And any statement about global warming is and the family mine problem can be found by living in biofilms on Mars. Mars also has bacteria. Maybe even would life. Our robots have explored Mars, but not really people. In my conclusion that I think space is to be explored, this is my conclusion. Thank you very much. Esspeaker, Andy, nice rebuttals. Yeah, and nice rebutling here. Andy, absolutely fantastic. Okay, Jamie, our final speaker of today, Jame, your two minutes and 30s starts now. Okay, so in my debate, I'll first have my rebuttals as soon. The second speaker says that exploring oceans, which means that you can explore very quickly, space technology already help problems on earth and explore cabe sites could be easily find the solution. I want to rebut this point and though that Yeah, exploring oceans that's quite very easily, but you need money, right? Also, if you need money, that means that you need to go into millions of billions of money into that. Why can't you just use it to solve other problems, such as poverty and diseases? For example, diseases diseases is very important. And so that only malaria, malaria have killed thousands of people in a year. Does that worth it? With billions of dollars to just thought that the thousands of people should die, I think that's worth it too. So second, this, does space exploration also need a lot of dollars for just a rocket? You need to have the rocket. You need to have one month. The time is long too. Now we can say that technology such as AI, AI is very a powerful tool for us. So if we have this powerful tool, we need to use it, right? We need to use it. So we will. So maybe a scientists have one, maybe one solution. The scientists could put it and let AI to disguise it into a phase, into a planet such as Mars. And then maybe if the solution was correct, maybe you can just, maybe you can test it and then itcome out the real solution. This this wouldn't have been billions of billions of dollars, such as building a rocket and this doesn't mean a lot of time. So at this billions of billions of dollars, we can use it to provide hunger and climate change that hasn't been solved. So as though that and so that powerful tools can also help speaking that the important results of body actually very much Jamie, a very well thought out and planned debate. Fantastic. Yeah. Wow. Oh, we that I think she's had to run out. I'm well done. Congratulations each and every one of you. And very quickly I'm going do Andy. Nice rebutling. Yeah you really actively listen to something that Annie has said and you were able to sort of meet her argument. Yeah. And hopefully if Annie sees this this video when she looks back, Annie's address was really well prepared and she really talked about statistics with it. Henry, nice example. Technical knowledge you put into today's debate, your critical thinking was fantastic. Henry and your contribution, you and Andy would very well as a team. Yeah, you were talking together and beautifully working together. It was fantastic to see Jamie, nicely prepared, nice signposting, nice rebutttles. I can tell that, you know, youhave been ready for any points of interest that someone might have pulled your way as well. So absolutely fantastic in terms of who has convinced me the most today. I am awarding it too. Was really difficult. Okay. I have decided that I am agreeing with the affirmative team today. Weldon Andy, Weldon Henry, I do think it's important, but it was really close. Jamie's AI argument was so good. But Weldon Andy, Weldon Henry, Weldon, want to be thank you so much for sharing a little bit of your afternoon with me. Yeah. So Andy, can you give me one thing we learned t today in debating. 18, we learned how to work together as a team and also we but the other statements and. Well done, rebuttle. Perfect, Andy. Excellent. Henry, can you give me one thing we learned today? I think I love, I love how share information when we are about together. We were trying to stop, but when we have, we talked about lots of things about space that we never know. So I think we have been sharing all of our ideas and techniques for long time. So great team. Rejamie, can you give us another thing that we've led today? Maybe that's such very hard to say. What about Oh Yeah, I know critical improve your ficskills improving I thinking thinking about the other side as well, isn't it? Well done. Excellent. Oh guys, you're amazing. Thank you so so much. I'm so sorry that we've lost Annie. Mr. Pop down and couldn't get back in. Yes, Andy, I want to say something about the debate is that there's a micro spacecraft which don't cost much money and Jamie said they don't produce any. Have you still coveri love this, Andy? You've won the debate and you're still covering up with some ideas to rebuttle people. Well, then, thank you so, so, so, so, so much. You are all absolutely incredible. Thank you for each and every one of you for joining us this afternoon. How much, Haris, that your day? Bye, Andy. Bye, Henry.
