I have go to school, and today I have learned five Chinese class. So you went to school today, and then you, you learned stuff in Chinese class today. What was the best thing you learned? T, there are five, five new things you learned in Chinese class today. No, it's, I learned five Chinese class. Oh, I see. And what's the best thing you learned today, Bruce? How to ria, that's really cool. Victor's trying to show you something. I think Bruce is showing us some, like a box of treasure. What's this box of treasure? Victor, Oh, wow. It's a box. It really is a box of treasure. Is there sweets in there? Victor, no, that's something. Gold. You have a gold. Could you give me embrce some of this gold treasure? Let's see if we got Alice. Have we got Alex? Are you there? Hi Alice. Let's have your cameras on if you're here. Oh, hi Alice. We haven't seen you in a little while. How are you? Alice? Are you okay? I'm good. Oh, I'm so pleased to hear. And what have you been up to? Alice? Today we have a Christmas market for charity. So we can make some money and we can give and and we can give to the charity. See you at a Christmas market. What was at this Christmas market? Like I was like here for selling like something for I make money for 1210. I am in year four. So so our class like tangles, you know like the tangle, like the things and we can sell them the sell them to the the that's cool people. And did did it go well? Did you make lots of ity money? Oh, that's really good. That's amazing. Alex, how are you today? Yeah, dude, where are you? Alex? Let's see ya. I'm right here and front to the screen. Well, let's put our camera on then, Alex. We don't need to turn it off. We usually have it on. There we go. How are you with today? Alex? You good. I'm good. Oh, Yeah. And what did you do today? I got to school school and have you got are you all on holiday tomorrow? Have you all got your last days of school tomorrow or Yeah so have anybody else got a winter break? Last day tomorrow last day and then the weekend last season tomorrow is the last day every real week tomorrow you you're gonna go to your school and then and then tomorrow tomorrow will it will be a weekend be the weekend anyone having winter break? Anyone having some holidays next week? Alice is having a holiday next week. That weekget Bruce is having a hoolympic just having a holiday next week and have you got anything planned? Bruce, have you got anything planned for your holiday? Yes, we'll go Christmas shopping that's going to be very exciting Alice, have you got anything planned? I'm gonna to travel and I'm gonna to skiing skating you off skiing? Oh my goodness, I can't ski, Alice, so I'm so in awe. Wow, you're gonna go down the really big mountains. Yes, howyou, get off the chair, Alice, I've always wanted to know how you get off the chair. The chair is scary. Yeah going up the mountain. I'm used to jump off so you can get off. Icon, I'd be going round all day. Alice, I'd be going round. Itbe, like I'm going round again. A Victor, what are you doing for your week off or your couple of weeks off? We'll also travel to other places and buy something. Wow, this could to be exciting. Alex, Alex, do you have any plans? No, no plans. You're gonna be at home relaxing maybe. Yeah thatbe quite nice too. Right? Today, guys, we are gonna be talking about this third speaker. Yeah, we're gonna be talking about the third speaker today. We've got a good debate as well today. So being the third speaker, right? It's the last person usually in your team, okay? And it's a very important role, but they're all important roles. Now each role you will find a role that you prefer most. Some people like being first speakers, some people like being second, and some people like being third speakers. Okay, let's try and keep our cameras on where we can guys so we know that we're in class and listening, not that we're off doing other things. So if we can keep our cameras on, thank you very much Alice Alex if can keep our camera on where possible. So persuading the adjufication so your final person, your third person, okay, nice. But yes, but Alex, we should have our camera on at all times in class. So we know that you're actively listening and listening to others. Yes, Alice, you get, can I go to and get a drink? You absolutely can get a drink. Thank you very much for asking. Yes, you can get a drink. And so the third speaker will always be the one that persuades us at the last minute, main duties, reinforce, repeat your team's ideas. You should be listening to speaker one and speaker two and repeat what they've said. So in conclusion, as my other speakers have said, well, and you must rebut the other teams m's argument, anything that maybe no one's rebutttled yet. Okay. So we want to think about, for example, ladies and gentlemen, today I summarize, I conclude the debate and explain why my team have won. Okay, assume, pretend tive one on first I'll rebute the other team's arguments. Then I'll reinforce my team's points and explain why they will stand at the end of the debate. So rebuttle tips, attack the other team's argument. Remember to say something like Alex said, that plastic bags are vital for us to use. However, I disagree because okay, Victor's second point, he said about how fish eat plastic is not proven scientifically. So we can make sure we attack Yeah the other team's argument and then defend your team. Remember to repeat their points, their ideas. So practice, okay, we're going to practice. Homework should be banned. So the first speaker said, students will be stressful having too much homework. The second students said, students have less time to do exercise or other hobbies. So how do you rebut this, Bruce? How do we rebut these arguments? You can use some powerful word. Go on then, Bruce, rebuttle them for me. Rebuttle, these homework should be banned. Students will be more stressed, students have less time. What can I use as a rebuttle against this argument? If children don't, you don't write homework. And when they grow up, they don't know anything. But wanted to play. Very well done, Bruce. Fantastic. Okay, Alex, have you got a rebuttal for this argument? They said, students will be stressful having to my homework, then the teacher can give a little more less homework or you can, you can just, you can, you can, you can write some homework and you just you for 11 like five minutes and you write homework again. That way you won't be that stressful. And a student and student have less time doing exercise or other hobbies. But if if students don't do homework, they they won't the teacher won't know they if they listening in class or or if something they don't know and in class they didn't solve and the homework can can happen. So, so the so the things is student doesn't know it would it would be like like question it no, it would be wrong. The question will be wrong. The teacher can fix it in time in case the question is too, too far and very hard to fix. Very well done, Alex. That was a nice explanation. Very, very well done. Excellent job. Okay, Alex, how would you rebuttle this ustudents will be strefor having too much homework. But homework is helping, like students to learn more things for their life and their education. Very well done, Alice. And what I really like there is you said. You said so you like, reiterated what I said. Well done. Excellent. Okay, Victor, with his golden chess today, he's called the money. Victor, how would you run rebuttle this, Victor? I think if if getting children too much homework, children will have. They healthy will. Also be afffact of the heavy on their homework and they they they will also be maybe嗯have will be six so so they cannot to get to school to have classes,so it is also bad for the education yes. Anything else, Victor? No, no, brilliant. Amazing goi just wanted to check Victor. Well done. Yeah, education. Yeah well done to thinking using that big word of education. Yes, Alex the Victor said that it was too bad homework. Can can we wish the birthday right then why can't the birthday wait until the weekend? We would have time to celebrate. Why have to be be time when school comes? Very good point. It's a good solution actually there we are that going back to that idea, isn't it, with rebuttals, is it a problem? Can we solve another way yet? This is the type of thing we want. Guys, when you're rebutattling listening to each other and thinking, you said this, but I don't know if that's a great argument. Yeah. And thinking about why. Yes, Bruce anice says he needs to move the birthday till the second weekend. But if the children was seven years old and today is his birthday and it was going to be school, and if it was the second weekend the children couldn't do his birthday and the children will make your become eight years. So you think actually, Bruce, we need to celebrate it on the day maybe. Oh, a whole different debate. I feel like that. Well done Bruce. And Bruce and Alex again, head to head. And this is what I want. I want this type of rebutattling. Oh, look at this. Alice has had a drink brought to her that's so beautiful. So remember, when you're the third speaker, the last speaker of your group, don't talk about any new arguments as a third speaker. You're talking about what your first and second speaker has already said. You want to repeat and remind the judges, okay, what their arguments were. You are the last person to speak on your team. Make sure we remember what your team stands for, okay? Otherwise we might forget, all right? Because remember, that's probably what the judges are going to most remember in that argument. Yes, Alex. You just like you if if someone you do you mean someone send someone from the other team to say say something something something but is not right by something something something you can just you can argue back or something yes. So what you can do Alex say we have the affirmative team. Let's take homework being banned again. Okay? Because I think that's a good one to have so homework should be bad, right? So let's take the affirmative team, okay? The agree team, our saying so first speaker is talking about how it's stressful and you can't relax. The second speaker has maybe spoken about how it stops you from having free time. It can be difficult. Now, your third speaker, okay, Alex, when you get round to this team, wouldn't come with a new point. They would rebuttle the other team. They would repeat what the first speaker and second speaker did. Okay? So they would repeat the ideas of you can't relax and it stops you having free time. Okay? So they would repeat it so that the adjudicators remember each team member, though Alex would rebuttle apart from first speaker in the agree team, they're not rebutattling anyone because no one else has spoken yet. But first speaker, first negative speaker, Yeah would rebuttle the first speaker, then your second speaker on the affirmative team would rebuttle the the first negative speaker and then the second negative speaker would rebuttle the first negative speaker. And then your third speaker would rebuttle the second negative speaker, and then your third negative speaker would rebuttle your affirmative speaker, okay? The only one that doesn't really rebuttle is the first speaker on the agree team, okay? Because they are the person that sets the topic. They tell us the actual motion that we're gonna to debate, okay? But the third speaker must repeat, not only rebuttle, but they must repeat the ideas of the first and the second speaker, okay? Because otherwise you're going to allow the opponent the opposite teaens point to stand, and you want to show that their point is wrong? Yeah. Does that make sense, Alex? So if you've got another question. Oh Alex is gone. Okay, well, let us know when you're back up. I got I got No Okay, well, Alex says keep our camera on there so we know you're there so we don't feel like you've just disappeared. There we go. Thank you very much. So however, don't sound too repetitive. So for example, if Alice was talking and you were the first speaker, Alex and Alice was your second speaker and you made your point and all I did was repeat what Alex said, and I repeated what Alex said, that would not be good. So as a third speaker, you need to repeat the points, but you must put it in your words. I can't just decide to say what Alex said and what Alex said because that isn't good teamwork. I need to come up with my own way of repeating the points. Okay? So don't copy word for word what your team members have already said. You must make a new speech or a new point, but you can use a rebuttal. So you can have a new rebuttal and a new explanation if you need to. So debating is a team sport, big, big, big thing here. As a team sport, you should be discussing together. You should make sure everybody knows what they're gonna to be talking about. But you have to split your points up. You can't take all of it. You must allow other team members to speak in the debate. Okay? You must chat to your teammates, decide what should we talk about? What's the most important thing our team should talk about? You need to think about a summary for your case, what's the outcome, what's the solution? What would you like to happen? And brainstorm together. Yeah which is what we're gonna do now. Yeah, we're gonna brainstorm together here today. So today's topic is we should ban cars from city centers. Before we chat, let's watch this video. Okay, all about people's opinions on it, here we go. We now live in a world where cars are everywhere, more people are driving than ever before, and the number of cars in our city roads is at an all time high. Many people believe banning cars in cities may help combat the rising pollution levels and make cities less congested. However, many view cars as an essential mode of transport and think that current public transport may not be able to cope with so many people. We wanted to find out what people thought, so we asked teachers, should cars be banned in large cities? I do think it's a good idea because it will already reduce pollution, but I think it's important that there is very effective public transport systems in place to make sure people can get around obcities a hub of activity, and lots of business goes on. So I think it's really important people can get around easily as well. I do think it's a good idea because I found out in the holidays that a road near my house is the most polluted street in London, and that's bad for my luyes. I just think it's impractical. I think pollution is a bad thing in the world, and it's getting worse and worse. And we are slowly losing our planet to pollution. However, we have too many cars on the street now, so it would be very difficult to get rid of all the cars. So maybe just get rid of them on the weekend. I don't think it's a good idea to bank carfrom large cities, because without my car, I'll be forced to use public transport. And I find it very unreliable and very crowded. I think it's a terrific idea. I would love to see cars banding large cities just because of the emopollution that they cause. Used the noise as well. I think it's a big issue. So Yeah, I would love to see it. And I think it's cuable definitely all together. It's tricky in an ideal world, yes, but I can see how difficult that's going to be. And I would like to say, not just pollution, but I also think we are a nation yet more and more unfit. So I'd like to give the ribikes more and just be more induent. Yes, I do. Yes. Why? I think cars in cities create a lot of pollution. I also think that with the amount of people that are in the cities and the pedestrians, it also creates a bit of a hazard with them, with people wanting to cross the road and not necessarily looking where they're going. So I think it would be a good idea to get rid of cars and cities is a good idea. I think it could be a good idea because it might reduce pollution. And I think it's been a big problem in London at the moment where let's keep having bad asthma and things because the air pollution has been so terrible. I've had a problem breathing. I can smell the pollution and I can smell the petrol in my very front room, and I'm sat there. So Yeah, I think it could be a good idea. But there's other things you could do. You could come up with using more electric cars, baby things that don't give up, lots of poisonous fumes. That would be a good idea, I think. So not banning cars completely, but thinking of an alternative type of car, alternative fuels, that's what I'm for. I do. Oh, I think we should definitely ban cars. I think the amount of people that are using cars unnecessarily for short journeys, it just adds to the pollution. And it's really, really dangerous for all of our health. It's getting worse and worse and not better. The government has tried to do lots of different things to kind of try and reduce the traffic in London. And unfortunately, it hasn't really worked in the last five years. In the last ten years, we've had the congestion charge. We've all kinds of things, lots of different schemes. People have been tried to be encouraged to ride bikes to work, and it hasn't really worked. And I think that actually, at the end of the day, to get the pollution levels significantly down, you just need something quite drastic. And that's going to come from taking those vehicles off the road. Be a brilliant idea, because nourishment to Hatford is one of the most polluted roads in the whole of London. And all those fumes are interfering and polluting Young children's lands, particularly this school. So I think itbe a great idea. We go. So we're hearing there from actual teachers of what they think, okay? And sort of obviously, they're talking about London, your capital city in Britain. So you can think about whether there are certain cities that maybe need the ban compared to others. Think about today, though, if I bancars, what would I do? Remember, if you're banning something, we must think about what that solution looks like, okay? How are people going to transport themselves around? So let's begin with Victor. Victor, what do you think starus off today? What do you think? Do you think cars should be banned in city centres? I think because. It was it was a lot of pollution, but it will make lots unconvenient. Transportation. For example, when when you when you live very far from your school every day, you you just you only you can only get get up very early and and ride your bicycle to go to school. So it is very not convenient from transportation. Okay. So do you think, Victor, the problem is is that there isn't other solutions to this car problem? Do. You think, do you think we don't have a solution? We took all the cars away. Is I am I going to solve the problem? Actually, let's bring Bruce in. Bruce, what do you think? Do you agree with Victor? Or do you think it's just too complicated? I think it has. It can fix the problem because if we ball the oil car, oil car and give them electricity car, there will be less smoke in the city and children won't be sick. So you think don't ban the car, but ban the fact that it's petrol. So stop putting the fumes and oils into it and be an electric car. And okay, okay, Bruce is sort of coming up with a with a bit of a solution here. What do you think, Alex? I'll come to you in a minute, Alex, I promise. What do you think, Alex? But we can't hear you, Alex. You're on mute. I agree on Brues. And if you're wondering, wonderwon't get electricity will, will, will, will infect the can. No one. You can just use wind for electricity, use light for electricity. And so you can so I agree with yes to Alex. You're going as far as saying, like we not only do we need to put in electric cars, but we also need to find a solution to how we create electric. So we need to be in in wind electric. Well, that's a very good point. Is that this is bigger than this? Spding, yes. Excellent. Alex, what do you think? Yeah. Alex, or like it. What do you think? Alice? Oh, you want mute, Alice? I agree with Alex. And if you have lots of pollution like in large cities and might like have global warmings, Yeah larstly we contributing to global warming? Absolutely. Yeah. And I have a resolution for that. Okay, what resolution do you have, Alice? I could like a small car, like for example, a smart car can like fit for four people and that can make lots of pollution. And when a big, big bus that can fit like maybe 20 or 30 people, then that is the same pollution as a as a small car was can fit four people. So you can go to school like a big bus so it can make less pollution to actually, Alice, you're sort of saying, yes, ban the cars in the city center, put more buses on, make buses better. Yeah, that's a really good idea. And it make buses better and then we reduce pollution. Lovely. Okay, Victor, what were you gonna say? I'll come to you in a second. Bruce. Victor, what's your thoughts? I don't think only only only all your cars is cannot solve this problem because lots of people they have drive oil cars for many years and they suddenly turn into electricity cars they will be really not comfortable. So so they don't agree with this opinion. Yes. So actually it's sort of changing the whole mentality as well, isn't it? Yes, that's a really good point, Victor. How do I change what people think? Yes, Bruce, don't agree with Victor, because in our the earth has a air around us and we can breathe with you. And if the oil car smoke, the smoke will hurt the air around the earth and the air around the earth will be getting fainter and fainter until it broke. Actually banning cars could be a step in the right direction. But hang in a minute. I'm someone who the bus, I live in a country where the bus never turns up on time. Sometimes it never turns up at all. Sometimes it's not going to the place I need it to go. So I'd have to get a bus and then a train and then walk. So my journey that could be ten, 15 minutes could turn into a journey that's three hours, four hours long. So banning cars could be a real problem for convenience, to getting to work on time, to getting to school on time. So what could be the problem with banning cars in city centres? What could be some of the negative reasons? Yes, Bruce. If Bencard, the parent or children can't go to school without a car, because if the children need to go to the school and he was late, and if the children work to school, the children will be very, very late, and if find cars, the children will need to work to school, also bank ctoo, and the parents need to go to work. Example, the parents was going to work and he had no car. And when the parents walked to the office, he was late and cannot go into the front door because they were late and the front door was knocked up. Maybe Yeah because people of security in their work, don't they? Yeah can be real problem. Yes. Alice, I'll come to you in a second. Victor, these are really, really good discussions. Alice, what do you think? If we if we are like banfrom the city from our city, it it may be a very big like a very, very big like a big transtransproblem that it not be like will you get this to this exist to this this place to another place you another place another place that you can walk or like ride bicycle and this is not like you might get tired we might get tired right? And we however, now I'm gonna I've know you've got a hand at Victor but we can also think about, right, all four of you think about the fact that what if we did ban cars, but we made sure that maybe taxis, electric taxis, could still be in the city centre and it was cheap. What if we made buses more available? What if we put more trams in? What if we put more trains in? Would that solve some of the pollution, or would that just be just as bad? I don't know. Victor, what were you going to say? I'm going to sing only banare really bad because lots of people, they will go to a place to to work and to. To go to school, they, they they will give them lots, lots of unconvenient, so they won't be really unhappy with it because they, they will, they can only ride their bicycle to to their office and school. It will be very slow. For example, if you, if you only take. 20 minutes to go to go to your office. But if you ride your bicycle, it will even turn into one hour. Exactly. It could be. Alice, are you class? You got any of you? I'm searching for that. This at least you want odest salads. I'm gonna to give you a high five for odesty. Absolutely. Alex, have you got anything else you would like to say? Because you've gone off camera again. So we just want to make sure you're in class Alex. Okay, so try to try and stay in welded. Okay, so these are some really good discussions. Well then I'm gonna give you some other or dark ideas wab for us split you into teams all because we're gonna have to fight on either side here we're going to figure out which teams we should be on stage but let's also have a look here at this idea here. So heavy traffic is dangerous Yeah especially for children. We can't cross the road. It's the people are going too fast in the cities. There's lots of people walking and moving in cities. And places like London have trains and and subways and underground trains Yeah and tube stations, so and buses. So why do we need to have these cars? Cars are noisy, and having too many cars in the city center pollutes your air. Yeah it can be disgusting. And it means that we don't exercise so we could be quite lazy, couldn't we? Trying to go from one place to another with our car? Yes, Alex, cars aren't very good because because cars, if heavy travel fic literally is isn't very good because heavy pcar very like like a car accidentally drive into another car. It many people will will be very well with like a broken arm or broke or a year you can hear or something or something by the injured kenthey. Alex yes, this is a really good point to make, isn't it for banning it yet and some other things to think about. I'm not agreeing. Yeah you can't tell an entire community to stop using their cards. Got a lot of planning involved in that. How will people make long journeys or how will they get to school? How could they get to work in difficult places? Like I say, some transport doesn't stop at your work. It's better to look at the environment, like planting trees and buildings. Yes, Bruce, your hand was straight up. What do you want to say? If they don't use car, they can use some motorcycle with electricity. And motorcycle can be fast as the train or buses or cars and motorbican go to school quickly, can get moped, scooter, bikes with electricity. Yes, Bruce. Something we want to think about today. Yes, Alice. You're on mute. I'm sure it's good though. Alice mark, Paris, Bogota and Mexico City have like implemented carbans or car feeders, to reduce traffic congestion and pollution. Those regiaim to promote public transportation, cycling and pedestrian friendly space. For example, Paris went cars on Sunday from ten, 10:00a.m.to six P, M, while your Bogota transmayor so fiars to into car feep on Mondays every Sunday. Mexico City, new V D and B, C, initiative, encourage residents to use bicycle on Sunday, creating a festival armosopsphere water vendors and performperformers jhas also gaa ban on cards within a city center, turning it into a walkable and vikable area. This in are part of board the global effort to address urban challenge and improve the quality of life for residents. Well done, Alex. That's a good piece of research, isn't it? And I like this because actually we all talk what it's talking about there is banning it at certain times, not banning it all the time, but banning it maybe at peak hours to reduce. That's a good that could be a good solution to banning it. I love this Alice yes. Bruce room. Oh yes, you can bop to the bathroom. Bruce you absolutely you can bop to the bathroom. So Bruce is pop into the bathroom but once he's back to Alex, so you're still there, make sure you're in class for us. Please Alex, we just miss you when you're not here. You see, I just miss you, Alex. And you're not in the class. You absolutely congratuabsolutely grab some water very quickly. Okay, so we are gonna be looking at this motion today. We should ban cars from city centers. And I'm gonna pop Alice and Alex on the affirmative team. Yes, we should ban it. And we're going to put on a Victor and Bruce wants Bruce E's back. Victor and Bruce onto the negative teams, you're going to say no, it shouldn't be banned. And Alice, I want you to use that research. The reason I've put you on the agree team is because I think you could say something about banning it at certain times. Yeah which would be much more convenient for people. Yeah, right. So Bruce Bruce is back. I'm just waiting for Alex. So Victor and Bruce, you're gonna to be on the negative. You're gonna to say no, it shouldn't be banned because I think both of you have arguments for both. So I think you could absolutely argue on this team. And Alice and Alex are gonna go on to the affirmative. Okay, Bruce and Victor, would you like some time to chat? Do you want some time to think about what you're both going to say, making sure you don't end up saying the same thing or you find you've got what you need? Yeah, okay. So what I'm gonna to do, you're fine. What I'm gonna to do then is I'm gonna pop on five minutes, okay? For everybody just to get their speeches ready, to get their ideas, to get anything they want off the board. If you do need to speak to each other to check you're not gonna say the same thing, do let me know and I can pop you into a breakout room. Okay, right. Hopefully Alex will be back in a moment but here we go there's our five minutes and I'll also put everyone back up here so you can see the board properly. Okay, so five minutes until our debate Alice or your stuff, yours and Alex's stuff is down here and Bruce and Victor, all your stuff is this side. I'm going to take the video away for a moment and what I'll do is I'll also put up this one, which is for the agree team and I will also put up the other one as well for us. I think to be honest, you've already got these ones, Bruce and Victor, so I'll just leave this up for Alice and Alex pave on that side. Remember some of your structures. Yeah, we want to have a really good debate here. Hello, ladies and gentlemen. Remember to acknowledge what your teammate has said. Yeah maybe you want to reiterate, repeat what they have said. Remember to listen to each other and rebuttle. Yeah. So hello, ladies and gentlemen, Madam Chair and worthy opponents. Yeah poand. Today we disagree or agree with the motion firstly. Secondly, I'll leave this on the board for us. Okay. So you can use this in your debate and you'll also have finally as well. Okay. And I'll leave that up for you. Negative. That's correct, Bruce. You're on the negative team. You'll say, no, let's not ban it. Let's come up with other solutions. Alice and Alice are going say, yes, let's ban it. At least ban it at certain times. There are other moons of transport we could be using. Okay, got two minutes. Okay, we've got almost coming up to a minute to get those speeches, Victor. Make sure you've got your notes ready so that you know exactly what you're saying. Yeah, if you want to, you're welcome to use your pens. Just highlight the things that you're gonna to talk about. Yeah make sure you're prepared, Victor. Although I know hang a lovely dinner and I'm very jealous. If it can be very hungry, I bet it's yummier food than I would. Okay, Alex, you back? Okay. So Alex, you're going to be on the affirmative team. You're going to be on the agree team. Alex, Oh my. Yes. There's lots of things on the board to help you though. 1015 seconds the we should ban cars from city centers. So you'll be on the affirmative team with Alice. Alex, so you'll be going you'll be the second speaker with alewith. Alice, okay guys, let's get ourselves ready. Victor's just making his final notes. That's okay. Right? I can see Alice is right. Alice gonna be open God debate today. I think it's the first time Alice is open our debate actually it's very exciting. And Bruce, would you like to be the first or second speaker first? The first speaker the bruof. We are first speaker on the negative team Victor. We be the second speaker on our negative t or gay Victor. So enough time to also have a little bit more food for you, right? And then Alex will be our second speaker. But Alex, let's have our our camera on so that everybody knows you're listening to them because on our debate we should always be present. Yeah, we should be listening to everybody. Okay, Alex, if we can, let's try. Alex. I know Mike is. I know Alex. But we also in debating, we make sure that we can be seen as well. We should be sitting up, we should be listening. We should be in class. Okay. Thank you very much, Alex. Plus I miss you if I can't see you, Alex. It makes me sad. Regards the right. Alice, you will have two minutes. Everyone have two minutes for their speeches. Okay, we need a tiny bit more. Alice, that's okay. But we've been reaching about two minutes so far. Alright, so welcome everyone to our debate today. We are debating we should ban cars from city centers. Our speakers on the affirmative team are Alice and Alex, and our speakers on the negative team are Bruce and Victor. Affirmative team will be going first. Each speaker will have a time allocation of two minutes. Alice, your time starts now. Hello, ladies and gentlemadam chair opponent. Today we're gonna talk about car with a motion car ars spent from city centuries. Frestly, a handof city across the world are ready to enact outright banans on vehicles just yet, operating inside a special car. Three days. Paris Bagota, and Mexico City has successfully done this, standing as forward thinking cavears. It's a global effort to curb traffic and its negative environmental impact. Secondly, secondly, what's the most? Secondly, in Paris, the first Sunday of each month is the ate as carving inside the city. First, second, the force around this niements began at 10:00a.m.and ending at 6:00p.m.. The policy was put in place by mayor Annie hiago last October. I added to a previous effort because we find the cards are made before 1997 from interior, the city center of weekends, for example, we'll go to the capital city of Colombia, goes a bit further and many of its major Sophies into carpromotes every Sunday the is of just one per month the student live living up with vendors, musical and dance performers and bikes. So many bikes each Sunday morning begin at 7:00a.m., creating a festival ambiance at had residents actually looking forward to the roles being shut down to cars. After 2:00p.m.the roads reopen to vehicle traffic, but see are less congestion than they do so the rest of the week. Thirthirhamburg a German city of 1.8 million. It is a process of restructuring its urban core to make it easier to walk and bike throughout the city center. The goal is to create a Green network throughout the city over the course of 20 years, one where carars enter allowed and that offers residents a virtually easy for powered access to commercial racle centers and business throughout network of connected parks and other Green space such as sports. In Ctries, society is working to cover 40% of space with this. Well done. Well done that time. Well done. Well done. Is okay, Alice. Well, did you want to just do your final in conclusion. Go on. An in conclusion, in concluconclusion, I think large city needs Japan carved from city cencenturies. Alice, this is amazing. Nice research. Best debate yet. Yeah, that was incredible. It was the Green spaces. It was the positivities, the example Green network that you used in there. Alice, that was amazing. Well done. You worked really hard for that. Okay, negative speaker. Bruce, your two minutes starts now. Hello, ladies and gentlemen, Madam Chair and more thy opponent today we disagree team with the motion. We should bank carfrom city centuries. Firstly, if we don't bcars the csmoke bw all over the city and cause children or adults to be sick and need to go to the hospital. Second. If if we if we. If we ball the cars, there will be no things to drive to the office or the school, and if the children want to go to school and the clock was very late at, the children need to walk to the school and cannot drive a car to the school, and you, the children will be natoo. For example, if the children wanted to go to school very early and learn something else and play with other friends, went to early too, and others, one had go to school very early because they have a car, and the children can go to school only. And when the children went up very early and was very, very, he go to school very early and when he was at school, the children will be sniepy and can listen at the class 30. It would bthe cars. We can fix it with another idea. We can bend all the cars using with oils, and we can tell the people, or the people in the city or the government to fix this idea and tell them all to use electricity cars. In conclusion, I think we shouldn't ban cars from city centuries. Bruce, also one of your best debates. Nice address, nice ghts signposting, good rebuttal for Alice. Practical solutions. My favorite bit, though. Bruce, my favorite favorite bit, as you talked about the fact that there are other solutions to this problem other than banning it. That's a big part of these banning debates here. You're saying there's other ways to solve this issue. Loved this, Bruce. This is amazing. Very, very well done. Alex has disappeared that he's just made in. Alex, are you ready? Yeah okay Alex right your two minutes Alex starts now. Hello, ladies and gentlemen, help today with, I disagree with motion. The car should be city centers. City centers, fircar were, in fact, of healer environment, and, and will be not good for both animal plants and humans. The, if too many cars are built, it might get a car, car accident, and many people will be injured, and life will be very not easy for all of people. For example, what if two cars crash into, or even three cars crash each other? The people will be naand somebody even more dangerwill, maybe even die then. And if you. Can get Oh, getting rid of a car solution. And every people even driving cars can couldn't avoid car accidents. Alright, this finally finally riding bicycle and I'm going with going bicycle, electric bicycle. Or. Other. Or trees, underground trees. I think, Benny, the best solution very well alnice. Sign posting beautiful idea about this injury, the consequences, the impact of these cars. Well done Alex. Okay bruise Bruce our final speaker today. Bruce your not Bruce Victor I'm not gonna put Bruce back on Victor. Victor our final speaker today. Are you ready Victor? Okay Victor, your time starts now. We can't hear you, Victor. Oh, no, we can't hear you at all. Because can't he go out and go back in, Victor? Oh, no, Victor, we can't hear you. We didn't know if you can hear us, but we can't hear you. Oh, I want you to get your debate in. Yes, Bruce microphone got Yeah it's really weird, isn't it? It's not muted though. It's just it's not working. 嘿嘿。Go hello hello, hello, Victor Victor, maybe go out and come back in. Because we can't hear you. Victor, we can't hear you. I'm so sorry. Don't if you can hear us. Oh, no, don't know what is just like, I'm not sure. I'm not sure. We'll try for one minute. Let's try it. So we can't hear you, Victor. Oh, no, Oh, Victor, we can't hear you. It's make me sad. Try now, Victor. Oh no and have a cry. Oh Victor I'm so sorry. We might have to do that. You have to do speech for us at the beginning of next lesson it seems. I'm so sorry Victor we can't hear you. I'm so sorry. It's made me really really sad. Well well done guys. Victor you're we're gonna talk about your critical thinking today. Yeah Victor you brought so many beautiful things today. You thought about the counter argument. You came up with some fantastic starters to our discussions today, Victor. Yeah, so absolutely incredible. Yeah, really, really, really well done. I'm so sorry that really won't be able to hear your speech at the end, vicm. I'm sure you'll get it sorted for us next week. And unfortunately that does mean that Alex and Alex have won today's debate as obviously they had a chance for two speakers, but it's a bit unfair and I think Bruce did a very good job of holding up weldone guys. I'm just really conscious of time, so I want to let you go. Bruce. I'm sure it's beautiful. Oh, Victor's BuOH. Oh, but I'm so sorry. Victory sort of run out of time though, right next week. Should every child have to join a sports club or team? Have a thing come a think of both sides here. What's good about it? What's bad about it? You guys are amazing. I'm so grtted for Victor, but I'm sure heget it sorted for next week. Alice, Bruce, Alex, well done. I'll see you next week. Oh no, won't. Happy Christmas. We'll see you next week will be Christmas Day. Merry Christmas all. Merry Christmas.
