I've known English class at school today. English, what did you learn in English class, Bruce? The teacher gave me a paper and I wrote it. What? Did you? This apartment, Oh, okay, so sort buildings and stuff. That's really cool. A Victor, Oh, look at you on your journey. Looks very lovely. Sure. Itbe nice if we could see you. Victor. Bruce, absolutely. We need to pop there. Alice, what have you been up to this week? Tomorrow I have international food beoh, my goodness, what you have to do there? Then we can try different countries food and learn different country culture. And that's really cool. Which culture are you excited to learn about of the countries? All of them. I like. What? Alice, do you have your camera? Yes. Oh, should we see you? Itbe? Lovely to see you if you've got it. Hey, she's in the desert. She's in the desert today. Wonderful, right? Are you eating Alice? Is that where you turned off? Oh I wouldn't have been eating Oh okay favit was doesn't matter if you were just wanted to check okay, right today can we remember how to hold a debate? Okay, so before I give you all the answers, Alice, can you tell us what do we have to do for a debate? You have to sing and and say your opinion. Very well done. Excellent Bruce. How do we win a debate? You say some words that were very sell strongly, very well done. Yes. So good vocabulary. Yes, Victor, how else might we win a debate? 嗯also we can use three bottle and and have many opinions excellent。Yes well done. We've got to evidence have we? Yeah to make sure that our debate is the best so we're gonna open it Yeah the chair checks everybody in. Are you the right person for the debate? Then there is a main speech the proposer, the opposer. Agree disagree. Okay, then you will have further arguments in your team other the team members will make arguments, then you can open it to the floor. The audience ance may ask questions. Then each team will summer their debate. Last point. And then finally there's a vote. That's the judges or the audience. Okay, so how to give your opinions? So we need to make sure we understand sentence starters for debates. And we've got to think critically about what we think about since today's debate is all about, should kids eat sweets only after weekends? Well, I'm going to show you a video to start before we have our discussion. So look and listen and think, do I agree? Do I disagree? Here we go. Oh, little Kitty, don't overeat sugar. Hmm, good question. Hey friends, I know, just like Kitty, you might also find it hard to resist the sweety beauty taste of sugary food. So in today's episode, let me explain the impact of sugar on you and answer a bittersweet question. A sugar bad for you. Zoom in. Hey friends, I know whenever you see those irresistible chocolates, crungy cookies, creamy pastries and fruity scoop ice creams, it's hard to resist them as your mouth gets watery and your tummy starts craving for them. But have you ever wondered why it's next to impossible to resist these sugary products? Well, let me explain. But first let us learn a few things about sugar. Sugar is a sweet substance that originates from plants like sugar cane and sugar beaets. It is one giant molecule of carbohydrate with a scientific name called sucrose, made up of two smaller carbohydrates called fructose and glucose. Simple sugar like sucrose, can be easy to identify. However, sometimes sugar can be disguised under fancy names such as lactose, maltose, dextos, starch, and of course, as we mentioned earlier, fructose and glucose. And since sugar is everywhere, it is vital to know its impacts on your brain and body, why it's hard to resist, and what happens when it reaches your taste bugs. You see, as soon as you take the bite of that delicious pastry, it activates the sweet receptors of taste bugs on your tongue, which send signals to different parts of your brain, including the cerebral cortex. And once the cerbral cortex processes the sweet taste, it activates the brain's reward system and releases the feel good chemical called dopamine. This reward system is not limited to eating sugary food, but also kicks in when you play your favorite video game, watch your favorite show, or hang out with your best friends and everything that makes you feel good. And because of this feel good factor, you crave sugar and can get addicted to it. Although eating a little sugar is not bad for you, as your body needs it to survive, but overeating it can lead to a series of health issues. For instance, there is a chemical called leptin, a hormone that is made by fat cells. The way leptin works is when it rises, your appetite diminishes, which means leptin is essential in controlling how much you eat as it tells you when to stop eating. But absorbing too much fructose can lead to leptin resistance, a condition in which we don't know when to stop eating, resulting in obesity. Also, if you eat more sugar than your body can use in a day, it stows the sugar it doesn't need in the liver or converts it to fat. When you do this regularly, you damage your liver and build up fat. These extra fats can also enter your bloodstream and form fatty deposits in blood vessels that increase the risk of stroke, heart attack and other heart related problems. So, my dear friends, make sure to reduce taking sugar to stay fit and fine. Save your time. Did you know sugar can make you look old? Yes, my dear friends, studies have shown that sugar can bind with collagen and elastticin in our skin, causing permanent damage to it and making it look wrinkly and saggy. And you won't believe, but refined sugar has been linked with disease like arthritis, stress, depression, tooth decay, asthma, allergies and even cancer. Hope you learned something new in today's episode. Until next time, it's me, doctor binox, zooming out. Never mind, he put salt in tea. Hi, Alex, this saw you pop in and uokay. Okay, Oh Alex higher ya ya. Okay, right. So let's start with Victor. Victor, what do you think? Do you think that kids should eat sweets only at weekends? After that video? What do you think? I think his sugshould only eat sugar in the weekend. If if the kids eat sugar every day, it will cause lots of, lots of problems and lots of disease. It calots of problems and disease is okay. Victor, thank you for kicking us off. But I'm this know if you're still there about this. She popped off. Wherhave you gone, Alice? Wherhave you gone, Bruce? However, you're back at okay. And Bruce. But if I only eat sweets at the weekend and my birthday is on a Monday, then I can't have sweets then would that be, would that be rubbish to have no cake or any sweets on like Monday birthday? Yes, I think people need to eat a little bit of sweet, because it you don't eat sweet, we can get sick or other things, people need to eat a little sweet every day, not very more, not. Yeah so a little bit every day is better than maybe too much on one weekend because Alice, could we end up eating too many sweets on the weekend? If we're only allowed to eat sweets on the weekend, would we end up shoving all the sweets in? Oh, okay. So, Alice, tell us what you think. You're on mute. I've can't hear you, but what do you think, Alice? I think this tree is great only at weekend, because it is on Monday to Sunday. Maybe we'll be not good to focus. What are you doing? Like homework? And another reason why kids sure eat sweets on weeend, because they will hurt your teup, is it can cause, it can cause what we call tooth decay. Ls, so tooth decay, that's a good one. Tooth decay. Okay, so Alice is with Victor. We should ouldn't have been eating these on the weekend. Alex, tell us, do you agree with Alice and Victor? Do you think? No, only sweets on the weekend? Or are you like Bruce A little bit? Every day is okay. I think, I think, I think, I think not. Children and have to eat sugar on weekends because sugar is everywhere. Sometimes when you either eat some regular food, they still have some sweets like fruit fruit have sweets, right? This is a good point, Alex. It can be in regular things as well. Sweet things doesn't always mean sweet sweets. Yes, in fruit you can have sweet fruits. Okay, like this Alex world than Alice, what are you going to say? I think I think like if you eat a little bit sugar every day and if you eat like a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit. How about a week? So this is, this is Monday is thesday. This is Wednesday, this is thurday, this is Friday. Then you have a lot of them in one week. In one a week. Yeah, bag a bag of sweets every day would mean seven bags of sweets a week. That's quite a lot of sweets, isn't it? Whereas on the weekend weonly be looking at maybe two bags of sweets or two chocolate bars. Yes, Bruce, I think people sheat shouldn't eat sweet. You people can eat other things to make fit and healthier. And then in the last of the day, they can eat one nonpop or other cookies, something. So it becomes a treat. Yeah when I was a child, we used to have what was called chocolate Friday. So we didn't eat sweet weets or chocolate or cake for the whole week. Yeah and then we used to have a chocolate Friday. We you could have anything you wanted on Friday. Okay? So that was quite cool that you could have it as a special treat. Yeah so otherwise we're not making a treat if we make it every weekend so every weekend doesn't make it a treat Yeah makes it A A routine you could say Bruce Yeah it makes it feel like we have to have sweets every weekend whereas maybe maybe don't have sweets at all. Okay, that's a good argument. Okay, Victor, you had your hand up. What were you gonna to say? You be you be really wanted to eat sugar then. Then eat you eat sugar will will be more and more so unless you will have lots of sugar in your body, much sugar, Yeah we can become addicted if we eat it every day. Yeah if we have sweets all the time. But do you think because we're also talking, Bruce has made a good point here. This idea that maybe we we shouldn't eat sweets at all is what Bruce is arguing. Alex, do you think that we shouldn't have sweets at all or do you just think we should be better at making sure we don't eat too many in the week, not too many in week, like like one day Monday and one on Thursday? Don't don't need that. You can you just don't need to eat it every, every every day. You can you can just don't eat sweets on tuday or one day. Okay, so we could pick a day of the week. Yeah what I've got a special occasion worth is my birthday. What if it's the only time I can go out after school? What if I'm after to this cinema? But I could only eat sweets on a weekend? That could be difficult. Yeah at Bruce. Listen, think people shouldn't eat sweet at, because they can when they are child, they can eat seems to stay fit. And when they grow up, they can eat sweet and eat other things, because when children grow up, they can be more fit and more healthier. Okay? If we wanted to eat this sweet, when and if we go to a tv show, we can eat a little bit of sugar too. Okay, okay. So actually sometimes we can't plan when the right time is to have sugar, so only having it on the weekend would be difficult. Yes, picked up. I think I think we shouldn't we we shouldn't don't eat sugar at all because our body needs need some of the sugar so we can so we can maybe eat some eat some fruits or other things that contain sugar, but not too much much. Okay, so we're kind of thinking about this idea that it's you're thinking of it as sweet ts or sweet sugar is something sugar in in apples or something different. So eat apples in the week, have your treat at the weekend. Okay. Yeah, that's a good point, Victor. Yes, Bruce. You can drink milk, and in the milk it have a little bit of sweet too. And milk can make us still healthier. And if we eat, we drink milk and we can't eat other sugar, because in the milk there a little bit of sugar too, some more healthy alternative. Alice, what are you going to say? I think. We can we cannot eat sweets. We can drink like milk or something healthier or sweet weeso. It also means that we eat sweets. Okay, so I want you to think here, anice, why do you think it's a good idea to only sweets on the weekend? What good things can come of only in sites on the weekend? You can be. Do you think it's a nice way? Like I said, I used have chocolate Friday speak siited, but chocolate Friday, do you think kids could be excited? Then for the weekend, see it more as a treat rather than a must? No problem. Maybe they can because at schools, one Monday to Friday, you at schools and you doing your work good. And if you eat some sweets or like something, it will be like not really good to homework. And it might not be the. We stop our focus that we can have too much energy if we have too much. It's like a it's like a chemical reaction. Yeah we get very silly if we've had too much sugar. Yes, Bruce, if we need too much sugar, and tomorrow is school and we were in the school, then we we eat sugar too much. That if we listen to the class, we'll think about sugar, not thinking about homework or the teacher was telling things, what the teacher is telling us. Yes. So maybe ban it all together. Yeah, maybe sugar, having sugar, having any sugar can be bad for us in the long run. So even on a weekend isn't good. Yes. Bruce, what else are you gonna to say? And if we eat so much sugar, we couldn't eat so much. So I think if we go and do homework very good and do home chores, we can eat a little bit of sweet reward every day for doing homework or housework. Yeah, it could be a motivation, couldn't it? I like this point, Bruce. This is a good point to bring up. Yeah, we do a little bit of homework. We do a little bit of housework, we can have a little we can have a sweet or two every day that motivates us rather than one big treat on a weekend. Okay, I like more these thoughts. Alex you still with us? If you are let's have your camera on please and well done. Okay, I think we've chosen our teams naturally to be missed. So we are going to have Alice and Victor on the agree team and we're gonna have Bruce and Alex on the negative team. Okay? We're gonna to have quite a while because today's task, guys, teamwork. I want you to talk to each other. I'm going to be in both class and we're going to go between both classrooms. Okay? You're going to work as a team to make sure you got your speeches. You are going to write your speeches, and I'd like to get you all to two slathree minutes of talking. I'm going to help you do that. Okay? We're going to talk about structures. We will have about ten slash 15 minutes to prepare. Okay? So a long time to pare. Remember, a big part of this is teamwork, working as a team, answering questions, making sure you're talking about different things. Okay, so Alice and Victor, you're going to go into the breakout room. Remember, you only agree. You think, yes, we should only eat them. You can. Absolutely, Alice. You can and Alex and Bruce, you're gonna to stay in here with me. Okay, amazing. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to set those guys up to start, okay, we're going to work together, going to be m, I'm going go from both classrooms to help you all. Okay? So you guys won't need you'll need this side. Yeah. So you're on the negative team today. You're saying, you know, no, only weekends doesn't work. Maybe it should be banned altogether. A little bit of sugar every day won't hurt you. Being more regulated is better. Having a routine is better. Stuffing our faces on a weekend with sugar can't also be very good for us, can it? We should educate people on sweets maybe Yeah help kids understand how much they should be eating. We can we can just just only have sleep on that day or on Monday or Thursday or Friday or so. We could pick get just you just first on Monday and then and then you you you two days we have sugar and then urday you can have sugar yes okay right I'm gonna pop have a little chat with each other it's going to be back another twelve minutes or not but just going to check the other team I'll be back. Hello what what if this? What if we didn't there? Okay, so reminding ourselves who put my cut timer on for us, so reminding yoursales victim analyice you were talking about why you do think this is a good idea? Yeah. Why you agree that sweet should only be on a weekend? Okay. Now, what we want you both to do today is to work together as a team. Okay? So that means talking to each other, coming up with a plan. I want you to think about speaking for two to three minutes today as a long time. So we want things like, in my opinion, I think firstly because secondly because for example, lastly, because it is important that we only eat sweets on the weekend and you can fill this out. Then you want to say in conclusion, so we know you finished your debate and then thank everyone. Thank you. Okay. And I want you to build this today. Well done. Have written that wrong. And I want to build this. Okay, so that you're going to be speaking of two to three minutes. Okay. Challenge. Victor analyice, I want you to think about maybe an expert opinion. Is there something that someone has said, a scientist maybe, that says about sugar and only eating on the weekends? Think of an example today. For example, in my house, we only eat on eight chocolate on a Friday. I think this is good, because expert opinions could also be your parents. Maybe they have said something, okay? You can use a phrase like my parents have said, a scientist has said, okay, make sure you're talking about different things. Victor Alice, does that make sense? Okay, I'll be back to help you make sure you're writing your speeches as you go. I will be back. Okay, I'm going to check on the other team. I'll be right now, right day. Hello. How are we doing? What are we thinking of so far? I think people shouldn't eat sugar, because if people eat too much sugar, theyget not very healthy and sick for a long time. Okay, so we can have something like, so let's just stay with that one for a moment, Alex, and then we'll come with you. So, Bruce, we want to start this. So in my opinion, I think that sweets should not be eaten only on the weekend. I believe we should ban them completely. We should ban them completely or restrict we can use the word strict Yeah that means Bruce that we don't it means we can only use it a little bit here or restrict the amount we have all together. So that's going to be start of your speech. Okay, Alex, what's going to be your first thing to say? I'm the should not be only eating on the weekend because we should because we we should just just minus minus amount on a day or or you can just eat on Monday and and and just go one or two day without sats and then you can go sleep weets and then you can eat some sweets a day. Yeah. So we call this annex. We can say moderation. Yeah that means not eating too many, not eating too little. Yeah so we've got, in my opinion, I think that sweet weets shouldn't be only eating on the weekend as we should allow families to pick a couple of days they can have and eat in moderation. Yes Alex then then a you you have you have because three star like everywhere you just like everyday snacks something like chips they all have sweets and so firstly I believe that sweets that is hard to avoid as they are in our everyday life Yeah so what do you think we should do instead then Alex what do you think instead of avoiding it what should we learn? I think instead instead of avoid it we should either a little every day not too many and not too little so we can we can make it regular and don't have any diseases Yeah we can learn to enjoy them in a healthy Alex let's go back to Bruce just so that Bruce has also got his irs so Bruce you've got your first one about maybe they should be restricted completely any day. What's your other thought here? Bruce? What else should we put in here? I think this is neearer than this one tv show but we eat sweet as a tv show. We can't eat sweet on the weekend. Okay. So firstly, I believe that if I am we could say if I am going to the cinema or watching a tv show then show in the week, then I can't have a. And would only have them on the weekend when there is nothing to watch. Yeah, this would be, this would be, we could say this would this would be difficult as kids as we don't always know what we are doing. So we could have, firstly, I believe that if I'm going to the cinema or watching a tv show in the week, then I can't have a suite. And would only have them on the weekend when there is nothing to watch. This would be difficult as we don't always know what we're doing. I go to cinema on Tuesday or might one suite then right? If I'm only allowed them on a weekend, be a bit rubbish, won't it? And Alex, be careful with the scissors, please. Okay, Bruce, Alex, think about your next one. We're going to make another example. So Alex and Bruce, have a chat. What else could you talk about? I'll be back. Just go to check on the other team. How are we doing? Victim analyice? How we getting on? Yeah. What are we thinking about? Okay, what have you got so far, Alice? Let me see, let me let, let, let me see, let me see. What have you got so far, Victor? What are you going to be talking about? Remember, you're talking together. So what are you gonna to be talking about, Victor? But what have you too discussed? What have you talked about? So Alice, what are you doing? What points are you bringing up? Which one? Alice, I'm you're searching okay, but let's have a look. We've got some stuff on the board. So then we I've got to make sure we're searching for the right thing. We need to be working together. Remember this is also being tested on teamwork. Okay? So you two should be working together. So Victor, what are you gonna to be talking about from this list that you have both got? What do you want na talk about, Victor? Okay, Alice nooze, what she wants to talk about. Would you want to go on, Victor? I'm am going to talk about eating too much sugar will cause lots of problem and diseases, and also if you eat sweet every day, even even you just eat a little everyday, you it will cause, he will also let you want to eat more. In the next week. So at last you will have lots of sits in one in one week. Okay, so we could say so for example, yes, put your example in here, Victor. So for example, if I have a bar of chocolate on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, then I have eaten way too much sugar and won't be able to live a healthy life. So make that example here, Victor. Yeah, this is what makes your debate stronger. So for example, okay, brilliant. Alice, what are you talking about? So far? Children are not only eating caneat and ice cream all day all day because unless that are you providing? Yes, well done Alice. This is great. This is brilliant. Okay, so Victor and Alice work together. So Victor, you need a second point now and Alice, you also need a second point. Make sure they're not the same point. Okay, so have a chat. What other bits are you taking? Yeah, we talk. Who's going to talk about it being addictive? Who's going to talk about it not being focused in class? Who's going to talk about the diseases? Okay, so victim and Alice, have a conversation. I'll be back. Okay, how are we doing? Bruce and Alex, what have you thought about so far? Anything else? Not yet. Okay, so bruefce, what else have you thought about to share with Alex, your teammate? Ealex, what else have you got? Okay, so we need to find another one. God, just say, personname, what have you got, Bruce? And if people eat two much sweet, they get sick or a stomach. Yes. So secondly, if we eat too many sweets, even at the weekkends to get that in their brutes, even at the weekend, we can get really sick and have lots of illness. We can avoid this by eating healthier food. So Bruce, for example, what example could you give here? For example. Could you think of an example? For example, if I eat too many sweets on Monday, I could feel sick on Tuesday. Could you give me an example, Bruce? And they will eat sweet a long and a and get not healthier and not healthy. For example, if I eat lots of sweets in the week, then I will become fatter and less healthy. Okay, Bruce, there's though that to help you, Bruce, use this that I put on the board to help you with your speech. Bruce, okay, yes. Alex, what are you going to put for your second one? 嗯,you can if you if you just only need do we kids watch put every single street in the home then you will try to eat Yeah too much Yeah you'll be too excited won't you? Yes yes. Okay. Can you give me an example Alex for example, Oh that because get very sick and then you can you will go to school okay you will go to school and learn and for example, your your school the day is often and something very exciting is going to go on. It's at school or or something you got you're really excited of and you can and then you're sick and there and then you can't go to school and then you won't be able to go. Well done, Alex. Yes. Okay, so Alex, your speech is here. Okay, start thinking about your conclusion now. Ruce, the starts of your speech are here. Okay, think about the conclusion now. Bruce and Alex, Yeah think about your conclusions. In conclusion, we back. Yes. Yeah, I'll be back. I'll be back. Okay. How we doing? Alice and Victor, what are we doing? Okay, so have we come up with who's doing what? So Bruce, what's your second? What's your second idea? Well, it's going to be your second point, Victor. You're on mute. Took on here. You you're on mute. There we go. What's your second point, Victor? I think it is. The. Victim and you you will even want to eat when when you are having classes in classroom so you won't focus in in the class. Won't. Yes. Excellent. Okay. So Alice and Victor, what have you talked about? So are you making sure that neither of you are saying the same thing? So Alice, what things are you saying that Victor's not saying? Let's leave the board. We don't need to just underline stuff. We're listening to each other. See children now and I can say I know it might sound crazy, but the number one way to help you to have sugar is Commission. Yes, well done. Yes. Okay. So Alice and Victor, make sure you're working together. We want to make sure you're not saying the same thing. Okay, talk to each other, get those experts, opinion analysts, but share them with Victor. Okay, make sure you are using these Yeah the structures to help you with your debate. You've got one more minute I'm gonna to bring everyone together okay Bruce and Alex right? Bruce, what are you gonna to say for your conclusion? And I conclusion I was that in my opinion, I think people can eat a little bit of sweet a week, but not very much. We can eat, we can say, I think can eat some sweets every week, but not too much. Okay, brilliant. Alex, what's going to be your conclusion? In my concluconclusion, I think you could eat sweet every week, every weekday, every new day is every week, okay? So you can see every weekday is as it's not every day. Yeah. Okay. So Alex, because I know you don't like writing too much, your speech is there for you, okay? I've written it as we've been saying it. So I'll put that up for you, Alex, when it's your time to talk. Okay? So you can have that speech yet it's there for you. So there we are. That's yours. Okay? So I make it a bit bigger. So there we go. So this will be your ours salad will make it a bit smaller. Doesn't smaller make a bit smaller. Is that okay? Yeah, Yeah. Well that's so Alex, your debate is ready. Bruce, yours is there if you want as well or if you've got your own. That's fine. You've written it. That's absolutely fine as well. Okay, that's fine. Amazing, right? Okay, let's bring everyone back shall we? Here we go. Need to bring Victor and Alice. Well done. Well done guys. I went through both rooms. Bruce and Alex. Victor and Alex all I'm gonna to say this to all of you. Teamwork we need to build on it. Yeah in debating we should be talking to our partners a bit more than we are. So we'll work on that, okay, but because otherwise we're not sure what we're debating. Okay, so we'll have a look at that. We'll do that together at some point. Okay. All right. Well done guys. I know everyone's got some really good stuff because I've heard it all the good stuff. So let's get our debate underway, shall we? We don't hear any of this we've been discussing as has been going along. Okay, so we've got our affirmative team of Alice and victuwe've got our negative team of Bruce and Alex. Okay let's swap you guys around and then we've got Victor and we've got Alice. Okay Alice is gonna kick us off today. So Alice, remember as the first person to speak Alice you you are telling us our motion as well. So Alice are you ready? Alice, are you ready? Yeah, okay, I'm gonna put two and a half minutes on the clock for you. Alice. Today's debate is should kids eat sweets only at weekends? And affirmative speaker Alice, please can you start your debate? In my, I think, catonly e在weekends, because children are not only eating Candy and ice cream all day, because unless that's all you providing, I know my sounds crazy, but the number one way to help your child, sugar a option is permission. I recommend at least one a day, but for some food, you might include them a couple times a day or at every meal, like fruits. Like done so Alice, remember those structures I gave you? So we want it, for example. Can you give us an example? So for example, if I eat sweets in the week. For example you must stay sweet and at maybe if your birthday is at the week we can eat a little bit but not too much if you have birthday but if it sweets at the week then you might not really need to eat sweets at the weekend so why remember your motion Alice sweet only at weekends so you're debating that we should only eat them at weekends so for example if I eat sweets in the week, what would be the consequences? Okay Yeah so what do you think Alice? So if for example if I eat sweets in the week. At your homework excellent. So Alice, in conclusion. In conclusion I think his only is sweet weeter weekend. Well done. Okay fantastic guys. Okay, so let's just take a pause. I'm gonna to give you some feedback as we do this today. Alice Alice so let's pick all your distractions away. We don't need the iPad now Yeah so pop your iPad away don't need that any longer Yeah so lift palice when you're presenting we should lift and look at the audience okay? When we're debating, so make sure that's it. So make sure when debating, remember guys, those structures when I give them to, it's so important you use them. So when you're writing research, share with the group, then put it away, okay? Otherwise we'll do debates without research. Okay? So just make sure that you're writing your speeches out. We want you to speak for longer now. Yeah, you had some good ideas, Alice. So just make sure that you're writing them. That's your next bit for you, writing those debates out so you can read them holding it up, looking at everyone. Yeah Yeah like that. Alice, Yeah so we just want you to build that now, okay, building up those those sentence structures. Alice, big thing I want to say well done for is your research. You put expert opinions into that research and it was really clever and I'm so proud of you for doing that. So Yeah, well done, Alice. Okay, Alex ma, are you ready to rebuttle Alex? Okay, Alex, do we get your your speech because I know we've written it on the board for you. So let's grab it for you. Let's move it. That it might in my opinion. I think sweet shouldn't be isn't on the weekend. I allow family to pay a couple days that they can eat motivation like like you don't need to eat that many or that less sugar. If you eat too much sugar, you can be ill, but if you eat too less sugar, you can also be ill too. So a little bit sugar can can be good on every day. Secondly, if you during weekend you try it until my weekend, you will be too excited and eat too many, be very very ill. For example, you can get very second to can go to school and learn, as you are too tired from etoo. Many they want to go there. Sometimes if I was going on in school, then you won't be able to go. In conclusion, I think you can switevery weekday and long and not not every day, not too many every day or too less. Yeah. Gs, well, the example, Alex and Alex, a little thing for you. Okay, try and slow your speech. Alex, are you there? Alex, come back. We did really well and just slow your speech just a little bit. Yeah, so that you can you can make those three minutes. You just slow it. Yeah. But Alex, you put an example and we worked together to get those sentence structures. Really well done. Best debate yet. Okay. Victor, are you ready? He's got a multitask. Okay, Victor, your time starts. I think his shis sonly at weeend, firstly, I don't think every way just a little can can control the sugar that that how much you eat because in because in, for example, this. For example, someday you eat a bar of chocolate, Monday you eat a bar of chocolate, and at the last of the week you you will eat lots of sugar in your body, so you are probably sick. Secondly, eating in sugar can can also嗯can also make your study not good because because if you eat too much sugar when you're having class, you you are to. Can I eat sugar now? So so this will let you not concentrate on study, I think how to it the sugar is. Suis, you need to have, you need to have some of it every day and not too much. So I think the the best solution to to, to this is. Just eat some fruits like watermelon and and apples every day so this can control your sugar every well done, Victor. You just did two minutes 30. Well done. Okay, that's an improvement on your speech time. Nice example. Nice rebuttal, Victor. We want to build your structures, Victor. Okay, we want if I would recommend writing your speech again so that you don't feel like you're having to think on the spot, you can deliver it. Yeah, well done, Victor. Absolutely brilliant. Okay, it's Bruce E's time to rebuttle. Victor and Alice, are you ready, Bruce? Okay, your time starts now. I believe that people shouldn't eat sugar. Firstly, I think people shouldn't eat because they can eat some other things, like fruits and vegetable. In fruit, there's sweet Wiss, and in vegetable, they can get all sorts of things and can make themselves fit. Secondly, you can drink milk instead of eating sugar because milk was higher than sugar. Milk have a little bit of sugar too, and if you drink milk, you can be stronger and fitter. Certainly people can do chores at home every day, and if they work very well, they can get a lolpop or other thing, but they can just eat a little bit, because when they eat a lot of the Candy, their teeth will broke. Fourthly, when we go to a tv show and we can buy sweet there, then we, when we go home for a week, then that week we cannot eat Candy. Fifth, and if people eat too much sweet, they can get stomach hahe or sick. Lastly, they cannot eat sweets in every day. They will get better tered and do not get fitter and stronger to will get very fat and very fat. And in my conclusion, I think people should beat sweet rose. Well done. Two minutes and 30. You've managed to fill your speech time well, six, six examples. They were six, six and walbrueze. It was really thought out. Nice structure in there. Bruce. Yeah. And each and every one of you was was the best you've debated so far, Bruce. Nice structure, expert opinion for you now Yeah that little bit of research we want to add into your debates. Okay, what's up? Bruce? Asking. Fantastic. And Alice, I have a question for you, Alice, that I would like to ask you. In your debate, you talked about only eating sweets at the weekend. Why do you think this will help with sugar? Why eating only on the weekends? Will it help kids with sugar? You're on mute, Alice. We can't hear you. You are, if you are eating sweeter, we then my not you like you eat too much sweet, so you think if you eat every single day. Yeah like on Monday you need a chocolate, on Tuesday you need another chocolate and at Wednesday you eat another chocolate and every every week, every week and you eat a chocolate bar. So it's just gonna go you're gonna keep mounting up for more and more. So having it having it clear that it's only weekends can help kids to not eat too much. Okay, that's a really good point. Alice, thank you for clarifying that. And Alex, you talked about having a little some sweets every day. Do we not think some people then will eat too many sweets? It will just mount. Like Alice says, it will just keep building. Why is having it a little bit every day better? I didn't say a little every day. I A little, a little a day and then you can you can just go one or two day without weand and eat some healthy food with with when you're not eating sweets, then it will just cancout each other. I see. So you're sort of saying kind of it doesn't need to be only on the weekend, just needs to be moderation. Okay, well done. Right. I've got to say I'm so excited and I'm so proud of all of you. A well done, Alice. Expert opinions in our debating already. That is pretty impressive. Yeah. Victor, being able to speak for that full time with those structures. Alex, making that debate for yourself and coming up with an example. And Bruce, those structures that you build, the time that you spoke, Yeah, the rebuttals, the amount that you gave us was excellent. I mean, everyone has achieved so much today, so much okay, today's debate. It was a really close one, but today's debate has been won by the negative team. Weldone, Alex and Bruce. It clinched it right at the end. Very, very at the end. Alex's reanswer to my question and remembering what hesaid and well done. But Alice and Victor, very, very well done. I'm so, so proud of everything you've created to do next week. Yeah, we're going to be doing our next debate. What we're going to be debating next week, we are going to be dating children should have part time jobs in the summer holiday. Think about two points for each side because you are also going to chair next week. So two points for each side. You're going to debate on both sides and you will also chair again next week. Okay. Hi vibruce. Half fab, Alex. Half fab because half fab, Alex. You are all amazing. Thank you. So, so, so, so, so, so, so much. Have a wonderful week, guys. Bye. Happy scribbling. Ha.
