意义对吧?Hi hello. Are you Yeah where have you been? Like is is your school ore type? Yes, it is very cute. I love your little tie. That's very lovely. And hi, Daniel. How are you today? Are you good and you are good today? Yeah. So three. And Daniel, how long have you been debating together? I'm not long classes, just four classes, but you've known each other before. Yes. Yeah. And have you in the same class together or we didn't another class six together. What other class do you do together? Are are e reading, reading, reading explorer, reading, reading explorer together? That's hi, Hannah. You're okay. You also doing reading explorer? Yeah. Are you in the same class as Daniel and three? No, no, no, no. Different, different class. Well, hello, panna. How are you today? Yeah, good. Yeah, very good. Again, readbut, what do you learn in reading? Explore within three. We're learning about monsters of. The deep monsters of the deep. It's Halloween. Another one. Go on then, Hannah, what else do it? Whoa, that looks really cool. What else have you been learning? Hannah, I learned a mymysterious visitor. Oh, the mystery visitors. Oh, that sounds fun though. I love that. And wow, so funny. Wow, wow. One more and one more. Go on, Danny. What else you've been learning? Gone? Hannah, what have got capacity to today? So that is a good one. The lost city of Atlantis is pretty cool, is an amazing place, isn't it? Wow. Okay. Yeah. So we're learning lots of things, lots and lots of things in new classes. Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome. Right. Today we are looking at debating, obviously, and remembering our styles of debating. So last lesson we were looking at this Oxford style. Yeah this idea of an affirmative, a negative, a speaker. Yes. So the speakers area, let's just put speed a speakers area and then we have the chair. Yeah and then we had audiences on either side that could then make their debates. Okay. We've also got British parliament that we learned all about the Prime Minister, the deputy Prime Minister and the oppositions and world schools when schools take on countries from the United Nations and debate. And today we're looking at common debate. So opening address, Yeah saying hello, opening the meeting, okay. And checks whose presence that's the chairman's job, checking who is present and making sure we've got the right people debating. And they read out the motion. They tell us what we're going to be arguing. Then we have our main speeches from the affirmative. That proposer speaks in favor of the emotion. The opposer speaks against it. Further arguments from our teams Yeah to make sure we're being specific evidence, examples, then we can open it to the floor. We can ask questions from the audience and we've sumup. So afterwards, the chair asks each side to give a summary of what they're talking about, okay? If we're working in teams, we give a summary at the end, and then the audience gets to vote, okay? And the chair usually decides which method. So whether that will be from a ballot, epso, pieces of paper in a box, or whether that's a show of hands, okay? If it's online, it might be a quick chat in the box for voso. Here we are in 14 against team speaker audience. Sometimes you also have judges. So maybe it won't be done by an audience, might be done by judges. And usually the speaker can also be here and the negative could also be here and we could have a chair here. So lots of ways to set it up, right? So we're going to have a little look at it and look at him. Should we go and listen to the Green man? He's a very knowledgeable man. He looks very funny. Let's listen to him. Look, come on. Greetings. In today's class, we are going to be exploring the world of debating. Debating is when you argue for or against a topic, you have to prove why your team is right and the opposition is wrong. A topic might be something simple, like cats are better pets than dogs, or students should get more holidays. Let's begin with the setup of a formal debate. Two teams of three people sit at the front of the room. On one side is the affirmative team, and on the other side is the negative team. The first speaker of the affirmative team is the first person to speak. The timekeeper starts the stopwatch. When the speaker begins, the first speaker defines the keywords of the topic, introduces the team's argument and begins the debate. Different debates have different time limits. For example, if each speaker has to speak for four minutes, the timekeeper will ring the bell once at three minutes as a warning and twice at four minutes to indicate to the speaker their time is up. The second person to speak is the first speaker from the negative team. Like the affirative side, they. I cannot hear anything. I cannot hear anndy say, can you hear the video, Daniel? Yes yes, I can. Yeah you can't three. Can you hear it? Yeah, Yeah. So I'm not sure what it is. Should we try that? I already open I already opened the thing like this. Introduce their team's argument here. I only have you but not video. That's not helpful, is it? Can you try going out and coming out? Oh Yeah. Okay. Yeah, try going out and come back in. I wonder what's going on? Oh, she's frozen now. Oh dear. Oh, Oh, I got into the wrong class. You've gone into the wrong class. Okay, should we try this now? This person also rebuts points made by the first speaker of the affirmative team. I cannot hear the video. Okay? Rebuttal is when you choose a point made by the opposition and explain why they're wrong and prove why you're right. Rebuttals can win or lose debates. However, you must never become personal in rebuttals. I can't hear it after the first speaker of the negative side, the second speaker of the affirmative side speafollowing the second speaker a negative side. Both of these speakers continue their team's arguments and remarthe opposition. The third speakers of each team are the last people to speak. First, it's the third speaker of the affirmative team, and then the third speaker of the negative team. Both of these speakers rebuked the oppositions debate and summarizes their own teen's argument. The third speaker of the negative team is the last person to address the audience in the debate and have the last word. This can be an advantage in debating. At the end of the debate, an adjudicator or team of adjudicators will decide which team is the winner. They consider your presentation skills, the timing of your debate, and it's the team with the most convincing argument that wins the debate. The captain of the winning side thanks the opposition for a good debate, as well as the adjudicator, timekeeper, chairperson and audience. The captain of the defeated side also thanthe same people. Debating teaches you to look at both sides of an argument. Sometimes you may not agree with the side of the debate you are arguing, and this can be challenging, but it can be a good experience to look at a topic with a different point of view. It also teaches you teamwork. Each member of the team needs to know what their teammates are talking about, planning and writing. The debates are done together. Now let's watch the first speakers. There isn't a debate after this. Okay, so three and del Kenny, because obviously Hannah already heard some of that video. So three, can you tell me who speaks first? On the captain of the team action on which side? On the negative, on the affirmative. So always the agree team will always go first. Yeah so the captain of the affirmative team will go first. And then Daniel, who's the next person to speak. So the second person of the approative team, is it the second person of the affirmative? No, it's it's it's just first person of the the best, the no, the negative team. Yeah, very, very well. Then it goes confirmative, then it goes negative, then it goes affirmative, then it goes negative. Okay. And then iteither be an audience or your competition. So your examiners, who will then decide who wins your debate, there's someone that keeps the time and then they will ring the bell at three minutes to let you know you've got one minute left and then they ring the bell twice to tell you you're four minutes up. Okay, we've not quite got there yet and that's okay. Okay, because debating takes a while to get to those really long speeches. All right? So we will get there, but not right now. And then you have to thank everyone at the end of your debate, the final speaker will thank the chair and we'll thank everybody else in the room, okay, for coming because it's polite. That's what we like to do. Hey, so today we're going to be doing something similar. Soon we're going to be looking at the more we have, the happier we are. So Hannah, what do you hear? A bit off the whole work. You're done a bit of the homework. Well, that's good, dick here. And what did you find out? Tanna? Tell us a little bit about your thoughts. I am in the negative side. No, because sometimes if you get a gift one year a time, you're excited and happy because it's not usual. And then and if you got all the same at the same day, in the one day, you'll get too boring and you have nothing to do. If you all played all those things, you'll will be boring. And if you get a gift one year, you'll be happy. And. I have a word I don't know. Okay, do you want to try and write tifor us, Hanna? Wait, it's called cherish, cherish, cherish, yes, to cherish something to look after, like the one you write it. Okay. This word. Where ever I say, where have you written there? Parish. Where have you put it? Parish. Cherish like this. Yeah. Yeah. To cherish means to look after something. Yeah to keep something like that we care about. Yeah to cherish something. Hey, Yeah. I love this word, Hannah. Anything else? No, it's okay. Brilliant, amazing, great way to start. I love this word. Cherish. That's a really good work. Okay, Daniel, what's your thoughts, do you think? No, we don't. No, we don't have to have word to be happier. Okay? And why do you think this. Because because because if you, if you have too much more, that will, you will be, if you have too much more and you want even more, you will be greedy and and having too much and being greedy is not very good. Why is it part? Why is it not? Why is not being good? Why why is greedy not good? I like being greedy because if you become very greedy, then no one would like you and you would and then you would not have many people who like you. You don't think people would like said people wouldn't like you. Why do you think people wouldn't like you if you were greedy? Because you want and because you want everything out. So you're selfish is what we call it being selfish. Okay? But then you're kind of mean and you're kind of and you're kind of mean and and jealous. Jealous. Good word, a jealousy. But three, if I have everything, if I have every toy I want, if I had all the food that I want, if I got all the clothes that I want, am I gonna to be happy that I can have what I want, when I want? That would make me happy, wouldn't it? Yeah. Oh, okay. Why is that not going to make me happy? Because sometimes if you have too much things, you might lose them. And. And you can also cannot decide which one you like the best. We'll have two mysters. I'll become what we can call ungrateful for what I've got, being grateful of my Oh good boy. Yes, Daniel, I also have another one. Like if you have too much things and you would not need that much things and and and and some of them would not would not be handful handy. Oh, so so essentially youhave too many things, but none of them are really and that actually and that actually and that actually makes your space less and you would have a hard time cleaning them. But if I had everything, though, the more I had though, Daniel, I could buy a bigger house, I could get a bigger house for all my things. The more I have, I could have more houses, more cars, more things, more storage to could have a big shop if I wanted it. Well, but but you don't need all of those things. I'm okay. And why would I not need all these things? Why, Hannah, why do I not need all these things? Only one person. Because you're only one person. Yes, that's question. If you've got so many toys, you can buy a bigger house to jacit. Then at first you buy the audit toys. You you use a lot of money, then you buy a bigger house, that's a lot of money and you don't have that money. Oh, so it could be, it could be a problem that could be addicted. Okay, okay. However, if I could have what I wanted to eat, whenever I wanted to eat it, if I could wear the most trendiest, because arennot gonna to be like someone who's really cool, I'm gonna have loads of friends because I can have what I want, when I want. But if you wear the trendiest clothes, then then you will wash the trendiest clothes and that would not and the trendiest clothes are not easy to wash. Oh, I think Hanna's showing us a snack. What you got? Hannah? You that's my she's she's met as those after the dinner. She's multetaokay right. So I've got a feeling as anybody think that they could be on the affirmative side. Anyone agree that maybe the more we have, the happier we are? No, no one. No, not one person today, not one. Well, normally I would say wehave to pick or wehave to randomize her at this point to work out who would be arguing on the other team. But I've decided today that you are gonna to work as a team. Okay? So what is gonna to happen? Can change teamwork we exactly because debating is all about teamwork. And so what's gonna to happen next? You're all going to go on the negative side. Decayou're going to work as a team to debate me, okay? I'm but something very different this time. You are all going to pick whether you're going to be the first speaker, the second speaker or the third speaker. Okay, down. Why upside down? Let's put us back around work round, okay? Because we're going to do two debates today, okay? So what's gonna happen is is we're gonna have a first speaker and a second speaker. We're gonna to need someone to come with me over on the affirmative, and we're gonna be working as a team and one of us is gonna to be the first speaker and one of us is gonna to be the second speaker. So any volunteers to be on the affirmative team today? No, let me think, let me think. No, no, nobody, right? We'll have to do the randomizer. Then we will have to do the randomizer. We're going to have to see. It's going to have to just be luck. Are you ready? We're going pull it. We're going to pull it. Jayou, I'm so sorry, Daniel. You're over with me. Don't worry. You've got, I've got loads of ideas. Okay, so between Henry and Hannah, okay, you have to decide who's going to speak first and who's gonna to speak second, okay? And then who's gonna speak third. So what will happen is the first, I know the third speaker we'll introduce their argument, okay, and they will make their first point, only one point, okay, because they're only going to have a minute and a half, okay? So you're going to have one minute and a half. Then the second speaker will speak for their two minutes, okay? So the second speaker then will do their two minutes or two minutes and 30s, okay? And you will give two to three points of your arguments. Well, let's say two points of your argument, okay? Just say it's super clear. Then the third speaker will finish their debate after the third speaker will then give a summary of their points that you've decided as a team and make a final point to the audience. Okay, and this will be about a minute so everyone will get there two minutes and 30s all right, so you can decide to be the second speaker or you can decide to be the first speaker and then the third speaker because we don't have a third speaker so we're gonna but we're gonna to do this. Okay, so you first speaker introduce the argument first point, one point and then the second speaker is gonna to make two points of argument. This first speaker is going to make a final point of art to the audience. Okay, you get to decide that in your teams the biggest thing today is team work. You should be talking to each other. What are you going to talk about? Yeah think about what the other team might say. Maybe ready for rebuttals. Okay, so I certainly will be asking questions and think about how you're going to make sure you're in the best position. Are you better being the first speaker or are you better as the second speaker? Yeah. So dmiel and me against three in Hannah today. We better put three in Hannah in a different room. I think, Daniel, because I don't think I want them to hear our debate preparation. I don't think they want us. They want us to hear theirs. Course, of course I need to put you into different moand breitand Hannah just as always when you go into the other room I can still see you okay and I will be popping in and out if you need any questions I we won't still I promise you I will not steal your ideas three I promise okay you'll know I'm in the room you'll see me okay so I'll be checking in make sure you're speaking in English to each other okay Daniel I'm gonna put them into this room and then I'm gonna check they've got their pens and stuff and then me and you will start to think about our own debates okay so let me just go check on them I'll be back in 2s I'm muel okay have we got pens why are you here I'm just checking you've got your pen on we've got check when you got your pen okay brilliant right remember English speaking only Yeah be sensible I'll be back to check but I'm gonna give you ten minutes it's quite a lot of time you use it wisely Yeah I'll be popping in and out but I've got my own debate good luck come up with some good ideas right okay okay Daniel right what are we going to do first of all should we think which which which speaker do you want to think I think I think. I should be the first speaker because because I don't have, I don't I think I don't have, I don't want to speak too much and I don't have too many points. Okay, so you're going to split it today. You want to be first speaker in third speaker? Okay, amazing. And I will do the second speaker. I probably Daniel will speak for less because I'll speak faster. Yeah just so that you're aware not that we will lose anything from that. Okay. Okay. So what kind of things are we going think about here? I think we can use we have a look and do some research. I think we should okay, should we do some research? Right? Let's go on to I don't think, Oh, but we're allowed to do research. No. Street searching is not some debate, yes, but not every debate. This is not a debate that's cheating by researching. So we should have a luat. We the more we have, the happier we are. Let's have a look at what it says probably now. Okay? It's complex, right? More money can increase happiness, especially for those in poverty. Okay. So why do we think that maybe having more money is a good argument? Then you could buy many things Yeah okay. Why don't you think and you you go and you could buy those things that that that that will become hand that that that will be handy because I definitely think they will use mine they will not like that earlier. So you could buy many things that are handy and that will not take care you mini space too much space. Yes. Okay. So we could look at this from another angle, couldn't we? If you don't have any money or any things, I suppose, then we could be still, we could be unhappy then, couldn't we, if we didn't have anything? So we spill, like if we spill something on the ground and then it dries quickly and we don't have the thing, we don't have the thing, need to remove it, then we will be unhappy. And we have, we will have an unclean Flora. Well, ddaniel, I think you can. I think this is a good first point for you. I think this is a great point. Yeah, brilliant. Because I think it is isn't it because they're going to argue that none of them is important, that we don't really need stuff, but actually we do. If you're if you're poor and you have nothing, then more stuff is going to make you happier, isn't it? If you're living on the street in a cardboard box, having money, a house, so maybe we need to make that point as well, Daniel. We need to make the point about I think that could be your point. Okay, so I'm going to make a point about if we are poor we are then just as we are, then we are miserable as we have nothing. Okay. Yeah, okay. I like that before. That's a good one. Okay, right. When you know, and we have we and we could think about what what they would well, we what they would argue like we rebuttal for that one. Yeah, I can't. I think they're gonna rebuttle that having too much like having family and friends is more important than having like a house or stuff. But I think if you ended up on the street, then having friends and families is not necessarily going to they will still be on the street with you and that's not going to make us any happier, is it? That's going to make us quite miserable because we're going to be like cold and stressed and and okay, so we kind da know that they're gonna to rebutall that right? So let's put that as our another thing so we've got to think about this friends d's we need rebuttals. Yeah, we do need rebuttal. So what could we that we've got their stuff here. They're going to say that we're ungrateful if we have too much stuff. I think they're going use mine. So we're gonna to think for rebutttling mine, like mine, if you if you have too much your greedy. And you have too much, you want more, you're greedy. I would let me think. Thank thank. What if we did not want many, but what if it did not say that we're reading? Yeah, well, we're not because what we, well, I what do you reckon about saying some people can be greedy, but we need to have a balance of stuff to be happy. Or if we talk about balance, Yeah some people can be greedy, but we need to have a balance of stuff. Okay, I like this one. Okay Daniel I'm just going to check on my have no buff no we don't need to it I'm just going to check on the other team so Daniel think about another thing you're going talk about think about your next point we can discuss I won't tell them anything I promise okay I'll be back when be back look that's so old things your first your bet I'm just here just leyou know I'm just gonna let me know your here kiss don't want spoanything just checking you all okay got some good ideas so that first one Yeah I'm gonna go I'm gonna go I'll be back Yeah always I'll be back okay Daniel they're doing well okay right so okay what's going be another point if you have. Many things that you could, you could, you could lend, you could lend them to others and sharing makes you happy too. Sharing, yes, sharing things can make us happy. So having more can make amazing, you can share them to your friends and make your friends happy and also you happy because consider they're your friends and you want them to be happy. Complicated. Yes. I love this. Love this. Okay. So I think that should be your second point, Daniel. I think that one should be your second point. So you've got your two. So we need one more for me. Don't wait. So I'm gonna talk about the idea that but if we don't have anything and we have no stuff, then we have the other side where being poor is also a problem. So we do need stuff to be happier, otherwise we end up on the streets and can end up with a very measurable life. So what else do you think we should talk about? What could watch? Second could be my final point. I'm trying to think of stuff they're going to talk about because I think that's a good plan. Daniel, you were talking about, Oh, they're going to say that if you get squand stuff that you get bored with them. I suppose, like it gets exciting to go shopping, doesn't it? It's quite a fun thing to do. You're not gonna to be stupid. You're not gonna to be stupid and by the same toys Yeah, stupid and buy the same toy by the same toy. But maybe buying things that are educational, different and you want stuff like exciting things that can be and also and also if you have many money, you if if you are, if you like, if you are like have a broken bone, the surgery needs many money and you can spend your money on important things. When you are ill, you can get surgery. The important. Oh, yes, I love this. Okay. Anything else we think that we might need to as a team think about in terms of like what they might rebuttal to us? Like they were rebuttal or like like like one of you are just scored of those toys. So we can say, okay, say then we can buy a new one. Yes, exactly. Which can buy we can buy something new and and that just toys under things too. Yeah. Well, we can we can help. Can we be could create businesses that give people employment so much we could say, okay, so which point are you going to make in your first speech as the first speaker? Which one of these are you going to speak about first? With the two we can buy things that would be in handy and sharing things make us happy. Two point. Yes. Okay, amazing. So we're gonna have this point here for that first one in the first picture, maybe be doing two speeches. So you're gonna to have this speech first, then you have a shorter speech at the end you're gonna kind of be summarizing. Yeah. Okay. So they're going to have so what's going to happen, din, is you're going to speak for one minute 30 for your first point and opening speech. So in that opening speech channel, because we're the affirmative team, so we're opening it. You'll need to say what the motion is. Yeah. And then the other thing that you'll also have to put in is kind of what we think as a team. So you'll have to say like sort of a list year. So you can see as a team, we are very passionate that having more things makes us happier. Be cuts. And then you can make your point. Yeah, then I will speak probably for about two minutes and then you'll speak for another minute to close our debate. So making that final argument for us, Daniel, what can also do in that third speaker is if one of the team has said something, you can rebutton that version if you want to as well. So they say something you really don't agree with. We can also rebutton that third one. Okay, it's exciting. I'm going to go see how the other team are doing and then we'll have some time to write our debates. Let me just check out that owknow first. Hello, time is ready. Gonna we're going back into the other room to prepoh amazing, right? Okay, we're gonna go back into the room and we're already at another Daniel's going crayes. Okay, right. Let me cover this up because we can't have this or and you can't have our research either and you can't have our debates and okay, we're just now gonna give you, I'm gonna give you just three minutes, not very long because we've already been having our discussions just three minutes to just check your debates, maybe have a little practice for them because I want you to make sure that we're gonna to be really presentative and then we're going to give it a go. All right, you've got three minutes now just to make sure you've got your debates ready with the weird teddy bear head. He's got the teddy bear. Okay, I think I've got mine already. I hope you've done one as a team. I do not remember our debate. Can I, can you like, let me to to the room. I want the room. Okay? No, they can not see ours. I'll take the screshot quickly. They won't have read it by now. 1s. Move there and have a look at it. Okay, here we go. Okay. All right, Daniel, I'll leave it here. I'll be back in a second so you can use that. Telepenapp. Yeah, okay. He's just doing his final preparations. I'm just doing my final preparation if we're going to do it. So a reminder. So just reminder, Daniel, one minute 30s on, I have a question for you, Hannah. What question you? Well, like after the the will we have win and lose, will you tell who when will lose? I think we'll vote, Hannah. I think we will vote today. We're going to try and convince you that our answer is correct. We all have to it. And if we can't, then I will have the final decision. Yes. What's it going to say to you? Two? Right. So who's going first is the first first speaker. Me three is the first speaker and the third speaker. And Hannah, you are the second speaker. Secrefirst and third and Hannah is the second. Oh, how are you going against me? And three, you're going against that. You okay, dna, how do? Yes. All right. I've got about 30s. I'll be back for you. Yeah, just Daniels butyou kick Daniels bum, my own dentist fighting. Talk from the ladies here. Okay one minute 30s for speaker as much as you can okay don't worry if the timings aren't okay at the moment Yeah if you don't get to the full minute that's all right. Yeah it doesn't matter but try your best. Yeah so we're gonna have three here. We're gonna have Hannah here. So three you'll have a minute and 30 once Daniel has spoken. Okay you'll have a minute 30 you will have a minute 30. Then Hannah, you will have about two minutes to two minutes 30. I would have two minutes, two minutes 30. You will have two minutes, two minutes 30. And then Daniel will make his third speaker speech. Three, you'll make your third speaker speech. And if we have time, we will open the floor to rebuttals. Okay, right. Let's bring Daniel back in. Hello, everyone's in position. Okay, just make what you've got left there, Daniel. And then will begin. Daniel, Daniel, that's second we're talking about to kick your butt. They had fighting talk for you Daniel they had fighting talk for you. They keep telling us that they're going to beat us so I just don't believe them no, it's going to be us. We're gonna to beat you. Don't you worry we've got something really good. We're ready to counter argue you we've thought about what you might tell us. We've thought about it. Then I'll give your okay Hannah, fighting talk. Fighting talk today. Oh, my goodness, I'm scared and be scared all day. Long right Daniel are you ready? Yes okay right we better get this timer on shall we? So one minute so makes it don't worry about your timings if your timings are shorter it's okay we are building this you are allowed not to be perfect okay we are learning remember that for yourselves Yeah whenever it goes a little bit wrong it debate we're not in a real debwe are Daniel we are in a real debate we got to beat three and Hannah come on okay Daniel are you ready? Okay are we ready? Here we go Daniel your time and the debate starts now. Wait, let me just we should we start again? Start again today we're talking. Today we're talking okay, just today we're talking about the more the more you have, the happier you are. And our team agrees that yes, you need to have more to to be to be happy because firstly, we can buy because here my point, we can buy many things that will become handy and will not take a many space. So so you don't need to buy a so you don't need to buy a new house. And and and we can make those things very useful for a change. Okay, this one I wrote here. Perfect. Perfect, Daniel, well done. Okay, three is going to be rebuffling you so negative? Speaker, one, three will time starts now. Why do you, why do you think the more we have, the happier we are? After all, if we have too much things, and if there some of them are broken, you might not be able to get them all all throw away because there's so much and also and also. The you might not have the enough money or place to put your things and buy them. So that's why I think you should the, it's not a happier if you have all the things you want. You're not very happy as you would think. Okay, I'm gonna rebattle you and but but what if you you have enough money and and you have many things so it means you have enough money and you have and you have the thing that you can that you need to remove all those things and as I said, you you you you can buy things that that would be handy and will not take a much space but even that you might lose them a lot since they were taken enough because you're so small. Okay, okay, thank you very much. It's time for speaker two now. Thank you very much. A speaker two on affirmative team is beginning. And three, while I hear some of your points and I do respect speaker ones from the negative teaarguments, there however is an issue with the fact it's meets on with firmative team, Hannah, and then it's negative. However, the issue is, is if you have nothing, then you've got a bigger problem. We believe, Daniel and I believe that more money, more comfort, more opportunities makes people's lives happier and easier. Okay, let's be honest, when people are poor, life can be hard and really measurable. They may worry every day about food, about rent, clothes they can't afford, medicines or going to school, creating stress, sadness. So people need more to be happy. They need enough money, they need safety, they need comfort, they need to enjoy their life so that they're not struggling. They want to be able to travel, to learn, to spend time with family, experience joy. So yes, me and Daniel think the more you have, the happier we are, because having more means less worry, more freedom. Money gives us choices and security. When we have more, we can make decisions about our lives, places, study, travel, what we eat, how what we wear, how we live, where we live, what house we have. Wouldn't you like to live in a mansion? Who would PaaS that opportunity up? Yeah. Also, when you have money, you can help others. We can be a part of a community, so it means more friends, more experiences, more chances to grow. So the more we have, the happier we will be. Okay, okay. Have you can regret me, Hannah, before you make your speech, what would you like to but, you know, so first, as I said, if you want more money, you'll be more happier. And if you don't have money to get food or you can buy some tools, ys, to be happy. But that's not because if you don't have money to, to to get some, like food or drinks, how can you have money to buy some things? That is, you must get it for your life. So food and waters are your must in your life. But toys, they're not important at your life. Yes, toys are not important, but if you don't have any toys, if you aren't able to have the latest trend or the latest boy, then you get left behind in this society. 20, 25, everybody wants to have the latest phone, otherwise you're going to be unhappy. People might bully you for it if you don't have the right stuff. Yeah so if you you said that we can get only one or two toys, but you don't need to get so many toys, that is fair. But also, the more I have, the happier that will be with it because I need to have things to survive. Okay, are you ready, Hanna? You're gonna make your speech now. You ready? You can rebuffle me after hanotherwise. We're gonna get your speech. Okay? Hello, your time starts now. No, so get you more money. So get you more toys. Like if you get so many toys, you'll get bedy because you want twthing. Okay, I'll buy it if you want another toy. Okay, I'll buy it if you got 1000 thern toys and you want another toy, okay, but that's that's not impossible. That's really edy. And also if you got too many toys, you'll get you don't you will not have enough money and not and you if you and as you said it, which if you have enough money and when you have enough money, you you don't have enough fit and then you should buy a bigger house. And a bigger house means you need more money and a house needs a lot of, and buying a bigger house makes a lot of money and you don't have it. So that's a risk. So nbeaif you buy all of those toys you want, it's okay, but you can be poor rified those things. And it's, and when you like it, when when sometimes if you get all a man toys, you, you, you takes a lot of time to find it. And also, and some, for example, your best choice you think is the best and you like it as usual, and you and you loved it, you'll get very sad. So it's not a good idea. Thank you. Okay. Well done. Excellent. Harana. Very good. Anything you want to say, Daniel, make speech an hour. An hour. Okay. Hang on, hang on. Have you got anything you want to rebuttle to Hannah yet? Or would you would like to just Carry on with your speech? Like I will rebuttle Hannah and I and then I will Carry on my speech. Okay, we want to rebuttle to Hannah if you wait. I ca I like I need to think about what what she said because I okay, okay, okay. But I'm gonna ask money do you think about Daniel? I'm just gonna quickly ask you talk about people being greedy, but can't people learn not to be greedy? Like surely what parents can teach us? Like what is enough stuff so we can have that balance between having things and being happy, but being too greedily that we need to learn that so you can revert it. But as you said, like you can get more, but if you are not ready, why do you get so many toys? Yeah, but come on, Daniel. Absolutely, Daniel, go for it. So so I so I would like so many toys like like like I can rebuttle Hannah with with my with my final point. Oh okay, so we're gonna go into our best. You have so many toys you can, you can you can share them to others and sharing is is a good quality and that and that and that and that and that will like and that will make you a better person and instead of being greedy. You could use all your stuff to help people, to give charity to poor people so they can have war and they can be happier. The first is important by yourself, like if you, if you get all the, get all the toys you like and but first you need enough money and enough grfor you. But you would not be so stupid like like you would first get the toys and then you get water and fruit. You know you need water and food it so you would so you would have the enough water food before you get the toys. Okay. Okay, one. First, what going? Hannah, Carry on. Make your last point. Hanover 43 makes her last point. Yes. So first like this. So as you said first, yes, I said so first. I said that we should get more food and more drinks first. And your safety and your house is first. So if you get more food, you get enough food and enough fooyou can buy those. If you bought, you can just buy one and play with it and then and then that's it. Hey, okay, okay, okay, right. Three, you are about to make your final point on the negative team before I open it fully to the floor. Are you ready through your final rebutof your speed? Okay. Three, your last minute begins now. Well, since we have so much things, we might not have time to relax or spend time with our family because we're having so much time, we need so much time to look after our things and taking care of our things. And and also I think our team wins because we have strong opinions and also didn't change our mind. Oh okay, fighting talk for three at the end that well done. Excellent. Right. I'm now gonna open the floor. We've got three minutes, gonna to put two minutes and a half long because I wanna give you some feedback at the end. So we've got some time, two minutes and 30 to start our final rebuttals. And three, my first question to you. You've both taught, you and Hannah have both talked about this idea of more staff, more toys. It doesn't make us happy and makes us greedy. But doesn't having choices make us happier, like with more money and with more stuff? I have more choice, don't I? Isn't that a better thing? Three. Sometimes you may, you have lots of choices and that makes it a problem. You might not know which choice to make. They're all so that they're all the same and all not very different and all pretty good. And you might not know which one to choose and you would have you will have a hard time. Okay, I see what you're saying. I understand that. Okay, that makes a good point. Thank you very much for clarifying that. Okay, what point what would you like to say? Yeah. So if you get if you get so much toy you can't be happy, okay. One because like if you get too much toy at one day you'll get too much and you don't you get all the toys you want in one day. Then you can't be happy because you finish playing off with all of those toys too quick like me my mom said I can only buy one toy 11 like one months then then you can get more happy because then it's not to very you do not get so much one day and you'll be laokay right. Daniel Daniels, battery butyes Daniel, but if you, you you you would never finish playing all those toys are one day that's crazy. And and you, and you could have many toys, many toys on one day that you don't need to go, you don't need to go out to buy any more toys the next time. That's kind of convenient. I but as you said like this, so you said what if you can't finish it, but you you have a chance to finish it. If you don't finish it just then you can finish it a week, a month. I, alright, well done. Our debate has ended. It's now to turn ourselves into the audience. Did our side convince you to come over and agree with us? Did the other side, Daniel, did any of those two convince us to go on to their point? Remember, this is the voice that we're doing. Okay, so let's have our favstill. So what's going to happen? So who believes that they have been convinced by the affirmative team, the agree team? Who believes that they have been convinced that yes ahead, who's going to vote right after three, three, two, one voto, the affirmative team? What? What do you mean? What do you mean? What do you mean? So who's voting for our team, Daniel, did they convince you enough to you to split your vote? Are you staying with me? Oh, I'm shaokay anyone for the negative team. We knew that was happening. We knew that was going to happen. And you know what I actually think today, boi was gonna say I did ID do a draw. No one convinced the other to change their mind. And actually, Daniel, I think I convinced you onto my side. So I think I did the job. It well done. I want to say something before we finish people. And really, your debates and speeches are really lovely. Yeah. And what I thought was a big plus today is your teamwork with Hannah. I pocked in and out. And you two were talking. You were working together. You were thinking of good points. You were making sure that you were entalking about the same thing. Yeah you were very clear and confident three, that your opinion was the one that mattered in today's debate and that is something you need on a debating team. That was excellent year. Next thing for you three is use some of research. You can research in class. Yeah some debates we can't. Some debates we can. So use that expert opinion, use an example. Yeah. So that's your next bit for you. Okay, Hannah, same thing with the teamwork. Absolutely fantastic with working with three today. You were mature, you were sensible, you thought about your arguments. You have a very big skill. Hanna in rebutttling. Yeah you can think very quickly about what someone has said and think about how you're going to rebuttle that. Okay, it was nice to see you. And Daniel, what I call sparring, that's what we call it in debating sparyou said you said you said you. Yeah you did really well. So Hannah, Yeah and Anna, same for you as three. It's research now. Yeah it's expert opinion. It's examples we want to bring into your debate. Well done, Daniel. It's so nerve wrking being on a team with a teacher because you have to you have to try and keep up with what that person's doing. Okay. Can be so nervous to think I've got I've got to present this and work with that person. Yeah, you did really well. You really led us in what we were going to talk about and really thought about what we were going to counter argue these guys. You thought about that other side, which was excellent, something I asked you to do when you did do it and that was really good. Again, same as three, same as Hannah. Examples research. Yeah, you saw how I researched today, Daniel. So use that in your practice as well. Okay, well done. Amazing each and every one of you. Yeah, well done. Right. I finally of feel like it needs to be a high five for three, a high five for Hannah Hather for Daniel. It's amazing. What a nice way to draw at next week. Kids should eat sweets only at weekend. Think about that home whoside of this. Is that John? Oh dude, right. Remember to negative I'm a bad person. I'm and research both side because guys we are going to be doing what I call the loop. Okay? And next time you will all get a chance to be chair again, okay? So you will all have to debate on both sides. You will have to do an affirmative argument and a negative one to prepare for both. I know trying to no, no that computed me. Everybody, everybody like, well, well, like the like. Yes. So what will happen, Daniel? So what will happen, Daniel? You might start on the negative. Three might start on the affirmative. Hanna might be a chair. Okay? And then what will happen, Daniel, is that three will become the chair, you will become the affirmative, and then three will become the negative. And then Hannah will go into here. You will go into the chair, and three would go over here. So wesort of switch you all round. Okay, which I'll explain more next week. So just prepare to be making speeches on both sides. Okay, very because you give a learn out to be jazz, you better to chair your own debates. Great Daniel. Great Hannah. I will see you next. Have a wonderful week guys. Bye. I not that.
